In our culture, teamwork is important and we often hear the words "The hand of God with the community". At university and at school, we always have to work with groups on projects that do not necessarily require it. Therefore, it is important to always remember that collective thinking can kill creativity and produce cold and refined ideas. Collective action was considered only fruitful in implementation. The molecule of thought and brainstorming must be worked individually.
I believe that creative ideas in general, whether related to an invention, a business venture, story writing, design or painting, require individual reflection. Each of us has a completely different and independent mind: do you imagine that every creative person who has produced the product of his thought is, in all his stupidity, provocation and beauty? The world will be totally different. Most of the ideas that caused a change in our history or inspired humanity were the product of individual thought, reminiscent of Da Vinci, Edison and Walt Disney, for example. Teamwork is very important teamwork and community spirit is the secret of success sometimes, but that determines the impact and value of work is the idea, and so must be the product of one of the Individual creative teams even occur and add human value and inspire.
During my career as an employee, we sometimes had to come together as a creative team with the marketing team for brainstorming sessions and to produce and evaluate ideas for the client. According to personal experience, the results of these meetings did not correspond to the creativity of the relationship and, at best, are normal and repeated, if not bad. The hand of God with the community Yes, but that does not apply to the creative part of the work. Collective thinking kills creativity. Collective criticism can help, but once the idea has matured and taken shape with individual effort.
Steve Wozniak is the inventor of Apple Computer. Because of his timid nature, the media did not enlighten him as his companion Steve Jobs.
Vazniak is the inventor of the Apple computer himself and his hands and alone. He says:
“Most inventors and engineers I’ve met are like me — they’re shy and they live in their heads. They’re almost like artists. In fact, the very best of them are artists. And artists work best alone — best outside of corporate environments, best where they can control an invention’s design without a lot of other people designing it for marketing or some other committee. I don’t believe anything really revolutionary has ever been invented by committee… I’m going to give you some advice that might be hard to take. That advice is: Work alone… Not on a committee. Not on a team.”
Of course, teamwork is indispensable, but what you know about it is if you are an inventor / artist / creator and want to make something unprecedented, you have to think and work on building your idea on your own until the idea takes shape.
