In Memoriam Riven Pellokila
Around June 2016 Riven had a toothache and went to the clinic, but the treatment result was incomplete. The infected teeth are then cleaned and the doctor prescribes antibiotics. After the treatment, feel his condition has improved. November 2016, when he was in Jakarta, and then to Bandung, still complaining about his toothache or his gums, which was disturbing when eating.
December 2016, when Riven on Alor Island, NTT due to business affairs, his cheeks swell due to gum infections, then undergoing treatment there; ending in 2016 and starting 2017 at the hospital. Beginning in January 2017, his wife picked Riven from Alor and was treated at RS Siloam Kupang. The infection in his mouth spread and spread throughout his body. Even his lungs also contain fluids that result in him hard to breathe. At this hospital, Riven was dissected to remove fluids. After the surgery, Riven's condition did not improve, but it decreased even further. On January 9, 2017, at around 23:30 Witeng, in the VIP room of RS Siloan, around his brother and sister, Riven died last breath.
A piece of the story above, certainly long if detail, I often say, if anyone asks, "Why or what cause Riven Died?" Yes, it sounds trivial and simple, but that's the case, 'toothache or rather a gum infection, can lead a person to death.' That's what happens, toothache that can not be handled properly, can be fatal.
For a long time I thought about the 'trivial disease' that many people often underestimated. Because many people still think the toothache can heal and disappear on its own since it does not hurt anymore, and not as dangerous as other diseases such as heart or stroke or other chronic diseases. Toothache is only considered a local problem, will not run anywhere, and spread to other parts of the body. In fact, belittling it, is a very fatal mistake.
Teeth and toothache
Human teeth are composed of four layers: enamel or hard tissue lining the tooth portion containing calcium; its function protects the bones of teeth. The dentin bone is a layer formed by a yellowish lime that is present after the Email layer. Pulp or tooth cavity is a layer of blood vessels to nourish all teeth, and nerve fibers detect, pressure, heat, cold, and pain; blood vessels and nerves extending into the tooth root. Cement is a hard layer that has a strong construction of the tooth roots. Cement is a layer on the roots of teeth directly dyed with the jaw bone where the teeth grow.
Generally toothache occurs when the pulp is inflamed. The inflammation may result from decay of the tooth (due to the surface of the cavities), the buildup of pus at the base of the tooth due to bacterial infection, gum shrinkage, cracked teeth, damaged patches (on once patched tooth). In addition, dental pulp inflammation can also occur due to other causes such as sinus, injury to the joint that connects the jaw with the skull, swelling of the gums or gums ruptures as teeth grow, and teething (usually experienced by infants and children) .
Do not Underestimate
Often, we may, you and I, underestimate the many things that can make a hole on the surface of the tooth, such as food, oral hygiene, forget toothbrush. Arriving, make the hole enlarged. And if untreated or mismanaged, then the infection continues, because the nerves of the teeth die, then the bacteria reaches the tissue under the teeth or gums, swelling is filled with pus. If, severe, then the cheeks, around his head and neck swell.
Swelling containing pus, can spread to other body parts, can damage the tissue and bone, so pus out through the cheek. Conditions that make very painful, difficulty swallowing, difficulty breathing, high fever and body feels weak. Furthermore, if not helped, it enters the bloodstream, and infects the vital organs such as the heart and brain, and leads to death.
Early Prevention Efforts
Prevent better is not it? However, if symptoms such as throbbing, pain, pain in the gums, teeth and cheeks are present; and up to the nerves of the head and result in not concentration, then the doctor to the side. Therefore, it's good to pay attention to the health of gigo, for example, avoid the remains of food in the teeth at night, this prevents bacteria damaging teeth and gums. In addition, toothache or gum infections can be avoided by simple and inexpensive ways with:
Brush your teeth regularly. Remnants of food, germs, bacteria, bad breath and the like can easily be removed by brushing your teeth regularly. At least 2 times a day at a time after breakfast and when going to bed.
Avoid Use of toothpicks. Toothpicks are often used after meals. Indeed the benefits of stubborn food remnants, especially meat can easily be cleaned on the sidelines of teeth. The use of toothpicks can gradually exacerbate cavities, increase the potential of food stuck and tucked in between teeth and not impossible to cause infection.
Avoid foods that are easily caught or tucked in between teeth. Chocolate, candy, sweets, sugar, crackers, bread and the like are easy to tuck and stuck in between teeth.
Patches the tooth. Remnants of food no longer stuck in the tooth or between the teeth. If not immediately patched, the tooth will be even bigger that will eventually have to be revoked.
Suffice it
Take care, so as not to lose those you love, just because of the toothache.
