"Hunting the right moment"
In water drop photography, you can never really know, what kind of sculpture will the droplet create. You could say, it's a gambling photography, 😁 because there are so many things, that you have no influence on... you just have to trust your gut. Good news is, it's not all luck. You need to practice, practice, practice...
As the old saying goes: "Practice makes the master"!
Not only that you need to practice, you have to have patience! This is the most important thing, because this kind of photography, is very time consuming. Sometimes, you need hours and hours (Sometimes day or two), to get the photo, that you want. As you can see, at the end of the day, all spended time and hard work will pay off...
"Moments, like this"
Cam: Sony a6000
Lens: Sony 90mm macro G OSS 1:1
Set: F11 / shutter 1/160/ Iso 150
Light: Ex. flash
Trigger & Valve
For this photo, I spend 3 days of tries, to make it happen. Jap, you heard it right. 3 days. Can you imagine, how many photos did I have to make, to get this one? +1000 😱
Slowly, you are getting the idea, of how much persistence and patience you must have, for this kind of photography. Nobody said, it will be easy...
"The collection"
Trigger & Valve
...because we are hunting the moment , which happens in a fraction of a millisecond.
Not an easy task.
Maybe you have already try some water drop photography, but the results didn't look anything like this. This is because, I use a special gear ( Trigger & Valve ), to control the water drops. Without gear, this kind of photography becomes mission impossible...

What about, Do It Yourself ( DIY ) ? You could try it...
Still... no comparison to this photos... but it's a fun way to see, if you have the persistence and patience for it. Don't hesitate, just try it. You have nothing to lose, only time, but in exchange, you will gange new photo experience.👌

You have the patience of a saint and must enjoy playing with water! Even the "bad" photos are cool! The first one looks like a crystal mushroom, the second one like an armed green spaceship....

I really respect the patience you put into your work. The results are gorgeous ! Out of curiosity, where do you place your flash compared to the camera? Is it on top of the camera or do you light the water from the side/back?
Thank you for your support marjanko and the nomination at The Daily spotlights - October 10 2018! I've been very happy about it.
