So today I continued working on my self portrait.
Yesterday I wrote about the sometimes ugly beginning and today I'm writing about the more enjoyable ( in my opinion) second layer where everything is starting to melt into place. One of the big benefits of summer in Portugal is that my oilpaintings litteraly dry over night. This is great because if it's one thing I don't like its painting on top of half sticky paint.
This is the result after todays session;
This is the painting today vs how I left it yesterday.
nice job!

Wow. I am a painter myself but never tried self-portraits. After watching your post i fully intend to. I just posted my first post and was thinking for an idea for the next post. I might use the inspiration that you have provided. Great Job
Thank you for your comment @mindboggle! :D Very happy I could inspire ;)
Really wise colours and face expression!
And the wooden texture beneath makes everything look sooo so organic!
Thank you so muchfor you comment @walperion and for noticing the wooden texture ;D
This is seriously amazing! This is the kind of painting that you should enter in an art competition, because you have plenty of talent and it is very beautiful. How long has it taken you to get this far in your painting? I can't imagine it's very easy to paint a self portrait, but you seem to be doing a fantastic job!
Followed!!
Hey @mikewong! :) Thank you so much for your compliments, comment and FOLLOW! :D Yey! This far I would say I've spent around 6 hours on it... And I imagine I will spend another three hour session before I'm done.. :) Thank you again, appreciate it! :D
Really wonderful! Can't wait to see the final product.
Thank you very much @hansikhouse! :) Final product coming soon! ;)
