I work for a science nonprofit for kids, and one of the things we are always trying to do is find new and interesting ways to introduce science into activities for kids. This past week we've been doing some activities with circuits and I thought I'd share a few with the steemit commuinity because they can be really entertaining!
Paper Circuits
This is a particularly easy activity that uses conductive copper tape to make designs with an led. We combined it with paper crafts to make scrapbook style designs that glow. It is a ton of fun to use this method to make cards for all sorts of occasions! You just need construction paper, copper tape, leds, a CR2032 battery, and a working understanding of circuitry.
Here are a few more examples of the fun sorts of crafts you can make:
If anyone is interested in a little more information about this exciting craft let me know, I'd be more than happy to send you some resources for where to find these supplies, or write a guide of how to do this activity!
I'll be posting another fun circuitry activity this week, sewable circuits! Which uses conductive thread to make fun felt designs!
This is very cool...
Felting animals with glowing eyes would be fun too. Not sure how old your kids are, if the felting needles would be safe, but http://www.feltalive.com/ has some great tutorials...
