Hello guys, I'm @morningpig330 and this is my entry for the second round of @erodedthoughts' visual contest

This morning when I woke up I just remembered that I promised @erodedthoughts that I will make an entry for his contest before this week's Friday. I was taking my breakfast back then and I felt like a heavenly rapier struck me spiritually by the moment. Wow, my conveying of how I felt there kind of got too deep. Hahaha.

So when I realized how it was, I rushed to look for materials in my drawer. There, inside the drawer, I found this old box of water color pencils(maybe five years old or older by this time) that I had barely used since I bought it years ago. As far as I remember, I bought this box of watercolor pencils to be used with my markers(Zig alchohol markers), but instead I just ended up using the white water color pencil for variations of my work with those said markers.

I felt that these pencils were calling my name so I decided to do my entry with them as the main medium for the plate that I was to do.

So here are the other tools and consumables I used for my masterpiece
For the canvass, I used an A3 sized vellum paper, I should had used a Canson water color paper but it was too late when I realized it, I needed to finish the work ASAP.

Some pigma pens. (pigmatus commoniticus)

A really useful and fast mechanical pencil (clickatus very cheapus)

A fountain pen that I just bought recently (fountinus favoritus)

A beaten up Saji nib with an improvised holder (mangasis basikasis)

My new favorite item, a marker with a small tip (paboritus sharpeekus)

A ruler, flat brush, bullet tip brush and an eraser( Mesuris, brush, brush, gammus)

And a lot of scratch paper for wiping out excess water and unwanted ink. Also good for trying out colors and lines before hitting it into the work.(garbage)

π•·π–Šπ–™π–˜ π–Œπ–Šπ–™ π–Œπ–”π–Žπ–“π–Œ!

Here is a blank A3 vellum paper that I usually use as a substitute for a coupon bond if the work has a lot of lines to work with. For harder works, I use tracing paper, bristol board and sometimes water color paper like Canson. I should had used Canson here, but I worked like I'm just working with common color pencils. And so it ended up with some crumples on the paper cause I have to wet the water color in the process

First, I made a rough draft with my mechanical pencil. When I was drafting, all I was thinking was a collection of monsters fixing a Chistmas tree. I kind of got it right with the fixing part, but not everyone is doing so. But still, I think it still looks like all of them are having fun with in this scene, so it's an okay here

Then, I started with the boy in the middle. Why? I just felt to, don't know why but I just wanted to start with the kid with a Christmas ball. At times that you will do a colored plate, one of the most suggested lining tools are pigmas since they're very simple(line wise). Some really good artists like Eiichiro Oda(One Piece) do color their works and line it with the common Saji , G-pen and Maru pen. That's some advanced skill to tell you. Even I, after many years of working with colored works takes a lot of time in working with those pens when doing colored plates.
I went into his hat after putting some ink lines right into the hair.

Finished inking the boy!
Erased and cleaned the boy.

I colored the boy with starting from the hat with black and purple.

I then applied water on the colors, cause, they're water color pencils.

I let it dry a little and applied another layer of colored pencils over the dried out colors. To tell you the truth, I don't really know what I'm doing here but after adding another layer, I felt satisfied in how it went. I suggest this technique to those who have water color pencils or are looking to buy for theirselves.

Then I went into inking the troll with a mug of chocolate.

Then added color to it with the shadow man next to him.

Then I worked on evil olaf.

Then the masked shaman under a clothing. The name of this guys is Rhasta, just in case you know the reference of the name, please do tell in comments section below. ;D

Then I worked with big bad Santa wolf, I'm not really happy with how he ended, but meh, that's my fault, I procrastinated making this entry.

Then I went with doing the Christmas tree.

And other details like a table beneath the boy.

I felt like there is a lot of space that has left out so I added another character.

And there, were almost done here.

There is a lot of dirt around so I used a cheat. Hihihi, people think that I do this on purpose all the time, but to tell you, I just want to hide my mess.

Then I wet it.

Then bwala! I'm all finished, in my work!

Very cool, I haven't used my watercolor pencils in years either, maybe this will inspire me to crack them out and give the old wrist a try. As always this is a very awesome work and I thank you.

Interesting illustration, @morningpig330
I can see a book in the making.

How do you implement different fonts?

Yeah man , how did you manage to change the font?

I tried copying his texts but it disappears when I post it.

I like your art, it's quirky and fun! ^.^
also I have a question, how did you change the fonts?
