The Art

This was a minimalist take on stipple. I wanted to paint her with dots. So I used a pen, and a watercolor brush in different sizes. It was an interesting project as it took much more time and strain than it seems like it would. I am interested in pursuing other ways of using this technique, and may decided to dive even deeper into this. What is challenging is allowing yourself to keep doing dots while maintaining control because at one point you will find yourself like a machine doing a repetitive technique to mainly fill in parts.

This photo was taken by @kestrelharbor. It's magnificent with the color pops. I also love the contrast in brightness between the subject and background, yet there's still definition in both. The lighting is almost interrogative, but that's immediately shut down by the pink. Part of this reminded me of Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Who am I?

I am an artist who finds portrait photographs of people on social media, paints them, and posts it. I love the reactions and surprises that it gives people. I think there's a sense of self-esteem boost when someone is painted (even when there are mistakes or it doesn't look identical to them). The goal of my art is to surprise and spread love.
