The Beetle Sphere' is Ichwan Noor's giant sculpture made from an actual 1953 Volkswagen Beetle, combining polyester and aluminium to transform it into a perfect sphere. The idea emerged from a personal perception towards objects that are products of a "transportation culture", which induces hints/signs of spiritual emotion. By combining the techniques of manipulation and substituation, the form of this sculputure tends toward realistic distortion, which allows new interpretation about the object (car), as a shift in perception that creates an associative meaning. The sculpture's visual from yields an impression of a sphere-the basis of all forms.
The Beetle Sphere 'adalah patung raksasa Ichwan Noor yang dibuat dari 1953 Volkswagen Beetle, menggabungkan polyester dan aluminium untuk mengubahnya menjadi bola yang sempurna. Ide muncul dari persepsi pribadi terhadap objek yang merupakan produk dari "budaya transportasi", yang menginduksi petunjuk / tanda-tanda emosi spiritual. Dengan menggabungkan teknik manipulasi dan substituasi, bentuk sculputure ini cenderung menuju distorsi realistis, yang memungkinkan interpretasi baru tentang objek (mobil), sebagai pergeseran dalam persepsi yang menciptakan makna asosiatif. Visual patung dari menghasilkan kesan bola-dasar dari semua bentuk.
