This year the Oman festival was done in a very big way in comparison to all the previous years. The intention is to have as many people attending it and also to attract tourist. The Festival went on for more than a month and there were events at multiple locations. In the past there used to be events at 2 venues and they were all standard, like there was a market to promote local things and there would be food stalls and play area. But since the past few years there is much more, there are many shows being held during the festival. This year there was a flower show also, which I missed to see.
I got a chance to visit on one of the end days of the festival, and it was a week day so there was not much of action happening, but still, I did get a glimpse of the festival. Over the weekends there are some spectacular fire works, stage shows, visual shows being done, which brings a lot of spark to the festival.
The local stuff that gets sold during the festival is not even expensive, like you would normally get in other exhibitions. They are very reasonable. The most I enjoy about this festival is grabbing up on some local cuisines, some of them which I really relish. The one thing which I have seen evolving in this festival is the global presence. There are artists from all over the world who perform during this time and take part in the celebrations.

The festival is just not about experiencing the Omani culture but it also gives a whole lot of entertainment and a platform globally to showcase artist from all different nationalities. It's always fun and entertaining visiting these events.

The laser show is probably one of the main highlights of the night. Love the color combination of the flowers on the fifth image, very lively place :)
