The Yearly Kala Ghoda Festival - Part 3

in #art3 days ago

Today I am sharing with you the last part of the Kala Ghoda festival on which I have previously made 2 posts showcasing the festival. It was a very vibrant festival and I loved how each piece of art was conceptualized with creativity and each one of them had a very special message on creating awareness on saving our planet Earth with our own actions.

The festival goes on for 9 days, as I mentioned it starts in the last week of January and ends in first week of February. I feel that it should go on for a little longer, at least for 2 weeks. With the kind of efforts that go in making this festival, 2 weeks is a fair period of time to keep it going. It is said that almost 1 million people attended this festival over the 9 days, which is a very big number. On weekends it's super crowded throughout the day. The best time to go is during the weekday before 5 p.m. because then after that it starts getting crowded. I had reached there by 4 p.m. but by the time I finished it was almost 8 p.m. and I did get a lot of crowds to face. Considering all of these 2 weeks would be ideal.

I will start with one of the most aesthetic horses that I came across at the festival. This one was called the The Shimmering Stallion, and also the Lippan horse. Lippan is a art form of one of the Gujarat regions, where mud and mirror work is done to decorate. The white color is used to symbolize purity and the mirrors are the symbol of beauty with simplicity.

There are 3 horses in this creation, each one standing for freedom, power and peace. It is created in honor of the 25 years of this festival with the qualities that a horse poses.

In this festival it is difficult to get a clear picture without any obstruction. I managed to get one.

That's a very unique way of creating a horse. This is also in the honor of the festival, it's made in silver color because of the silver anniversary of the festival.

The Pegasus, which represents divine inspiration. It is said that art is art is a form of expression through which one can express their emotions, art allows us to play in different colors of life and helps us express ourselves. It's truly a beautiful creation.

This is the lifeline of Mumbai city. The Railways, Bus Service and the Cab services of the city, without them the whole city comes to a standstill.

These last 2 did not fancy me much and then I was getting late also, so I did not bother to read about them.
