Pastel in the city

in #art4 years ago

I think this work has combined many of my debuts. It was the first time I drew a residential area. For the first time I used sandpaper for dry pastels. Honestly, it was hard. I needed to convey very clearly the feeling of the first plan, the second and the third. A sense of immersion in space. That if suddenly the viewer is in the picture, he will be able to walk through the streets. A certain airiness of the environment.

You can see two options for the completed work. One with snow: before moving. And the second: after the move. The abrasiveness of the sandpaper could not hold the pastel flakes of snow. But there's still something left.

The very beginning. Since I was drawing this for the first time, I had little faith at that moment that I would be able to complete the work. The first layer.

In general, I really enjoyed drawing on sandpaper. This is the paper with the smallest abrasiveness that was in the hardware store. The only thing I really like to draw with my fingers, here on the first layer it is not safe to rub anything.
