Hey folks
Time for a fun bit of art, this time a bit of a cartoon style illustration, but wait more on that right after a little bit of super exciting news.
With that said onwards with this post and hopefully even this fun and slightly silly piece of art, can be an educational and entertaining post around my art process.This is my first post as a new member of Steemit Bloggers, I’m honoured to join an awesome community of high quality bloggers. Thank you @steemitbloggers for adding me to your community.
Roast Chicken?
Meet Mr Chicken, Chicken by name but not Chicken by nature, yup he’s not a chicken.... which type of bird he is I’m not entirely sure. Maybe a hybrid bird.... no wait a hybird 😊
But hey.... he’s a cartoon style character who’s also strangely sunburnt and on a mobile phone .... so anything goes.
I created this piece using an Ipad, an Apple Pencil and the app Procreate. I aimed to get a very traditional look to this image. With this I stuck to using a 6b pencil and oil pastels in Procreate, I did leverage multiple drawing layers since this is digital after all, that simply allows you to iterate quicker then using physical paper. Check out the final image here and the video process below.

Thanks :) The great thing is using Procreate does feel like using traditional media like oil pastels, graphite pencils, chalk etc. The reaction is very similar, not exactly the same of course but the closest experience to traditional in a digital form.
