Hello Steemers ,
I’m really excited to share with you that there’s an open exhibition in my city, with original pieces from some of the main representatives of American Pop Art like Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Robert Rauschenberg, James Rosenquist etc.
First, when I walked in a gallery, I felt instantly throwback to the 50s and the 60s because of the glamour that follows this exhibition. After the entrance, there is a huge red carpet spreading along the hall with the dazzling lights from your both sides. At the end of the hall, there was a smiling, blonde girl who was checking tickets and after chatting with her she told me that all pieces are part of the private collection of Lazar Vujic, a man from Balkan who was actually close friend of Andy Warhol!
Pop art was an expression of popular culture, formed when artists, tired of expressionism, tried to bring art closer to the real world. It was all about, real, materialistic things which we can see in our everyday life. It quickly exceeded museums and elitist layers and spread across ‘the regular world’. Today pop art is still alive, and we can see it on many ads on street, on posters, in fashion etc.

Thanks Hamzah, I've got some insider info that there will be another exhibition with some big names in June, they didn't want to tell me who will be but I'll certainly visit it and write about it too :)

Bila sam u Beogradu jednog ponedjeljka u Januaru kada je izložba bila zatvorena tako da nisam stigla vidjeti. Sada mi je još više žao jer su ti slike super.
Hvala Tamara! Pomenuo sam iznad u komentarima da sam dobio info da ce verovatno u junu takodje biti jedna izlozba sa velikim imenima, pa mozes tada da svratis da pogledas ako budes bila u Bg. Inace u nasem Muzeju savremene umetnosti se takodje trenutno nalazi odlicna postavka i verovatno ce jos dugo vremena biti otvorena i imas sve moje preporuke da je pogledas :)
Sto se mojih fotki tice, u planu mi je da kupim novi aparat :')
Odlično....mozda me put nanese u Bg opet :)
