NASH - Live Streaming using Blockchain to Financially Support Artists During Covid & After

in #art4 years ago (edited)

NASH is increasing our live stream content programming, and we're leaning in on Blockchain to financially assist artists in the Pacific Northwest and beyond!

NASH, the Northwest Arts Streaming Hub was created in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, as a way to serve the arts community, with a focus on promoting the works of marginalized voices and BI-PoC artists above those of the "mainstream gaze".

Consultation & Technical Expertise for Artists & Arts Orgs learning to Live Stream

Since launch we have been able to assist artists, arts organizations and festivals (many of which would typically happen at Seattle Center), live stream for the first time, while practicing social distancing. Our research tells us that the level of labor we've provided for free, since starting is over $22,000 USD worth of labor hours and expert consultation. NASH (@nwartstream on socials) has also constructed a website that houses information or artists performing in the Northwest during the pandemic, as well as a calendar of live streaming events for the Pacific Northwest.

Thursday's at 8pm & Daily on Twitch Dlive & Facebook

Tonight we'll be running our NASH at Nite series, episode 01. NASH at Nite is a variety show curated from artists that have signed up for our website (free) at htts://nwartstream.org . You can expect music, dance, theatre, comedy, spoken word, and short films on display (many for the first time) for your digital audiences viewing pleasure.

We encourage all artists that continue to make content during these times to reach out to us. Our goal is to get funds into the hands of the artists that are working on their craft and exploring this new world we've all been thrown into.

Getting Funds Into The Hands of Artists & Teaching About Blockchain

It is our hopes here at the Northwest Arts Streaming Hub, that our platforms will become a hub for content in the Northwest and Beyond, and a source that rewards artists with 100 % of the donations that come in on their work. To do so we will begin streaming more often to blockchain platforms Dlive.tv and Vimm.tv , as well as some experimentation with YouTube and Twitch, in an effort to increase our earnings through: Hive content creation and curation, BTT staking, and the use of Incent engagement rewards.

Blockchain technology is still new to many people, and the thought is often that you MUST pay or buy into Bitcoin. As anyone reading on the Hive Blockchain knows, that's not the case. We here at NASH want to spark the flame that ignites Artists to utilize these opportunities in mass, for the greater good of the arts community, but first we have to lead the way. Funny thing about blockchain is that you can't just sit and speculate, you have to actually buy-in in some form or fashion, but it doesn't have to be Bitcoin and it doesn't have to be fiat.

Also, we recognize that new solutions are popping up every day, and we can not possible know everything. If you know of some free to use blockchain application that can be financially benifical to artists, please share your knowledge in the comments section below.
