It started with a drip
I've made a lot of drawings recently using black drawing ink, today I decided to mix things up a little bit and introduce some colour, but just a little. It started with a bottle of red ink and a crisp white piece of paper- the perfect surface to drip some ink down.
After the red ink had run down the paper I introduced a couple of drops of black ink to the wet surface of the red, propping the paper against a bottle of ink I allowed gravity to do the rest of the work.
Once the ink had dried I got out my trusty dip pen and drawing inks. I took a few moments to look at the inky marks - what could they become? I began drawing a simple cityscape next to the red ink line, the red ink had become a river, and the black ink was the polluted water.
The final addition was to add a little house, sitting downstream of the city and the polluted river.
I wonder who lives there.

Thank you @marty-arts .The red stripe dictated the style- too much detail or tonal shading and it would become lost.
I think I live in that little house, it’s away from the fray, peaceful.
I can only dream of such peace and quiet...I think i would rather like to live in that little house too!

Yes, it started as an experimentation, but by adding simple lines for the city the black then became the pollution in the river.
