So anyways, this is my first real attempt at using the software. I could have either studied the program better - or just jump right in — so I decided to jump in — and wow do I regret it! I'm okay with the goat and the text/icon, but I REALLY fudged up on the tree and ground. Lesson learned, I suppose!!! Why am I shouting anyway?
So what the &*@# are voxels?
I'm guessing it's a hybrid word: pixels + volume to make "voxels". Just think of pixels in 3d space and you've got it! Apologies for the sorta blurry image. I know how to avoid it next time.
So, the software is free? Must be a wallet stealing trojan hoss!
There are advantages to being flat broke (in everything but Steem). I don't even care! Maybe I can muster up an upvote from this though.

If that doesn't deserve your full upvote, well buddy, I have no idea what does...Sorry again, the edges of the ground aren't fully green, there are a few flecks of earth colour. I don't like the way the program colours, but I may be fudging it up or over complicating it. At least I'm getting a bit better than before. Just like @Fabyiamdamadia!

Conclusion
Using this software has been even cheaper than a trip to the dollar store. I don't even care what it's capable of, I just like saving a buck or two. But maybe I'll be less crummy at it. Life is still insanely busy, but creating things keeps me from joining street riots or knocking over vending machines. (But really, I've got to post at least every other day on here!)I've already (thanks to @fabiyamada) learned about a way to fix some of the headaches I was dealing with...

Well, really, it's the small learning curve that kept me from focusing on the art side of it. Moving forward, though, I think I'm on a solid foundation and I can now concentrate on form and details.

I too break free from the grind. We make it every Friday afternon actually and have homebrew and listen to music in front of the computer making it our communal Steem time. So good for you.

Also you can take the gif and edit the frames of with the brown blocks if they bother you too much xD haha
The pixelly tool? I dunno... For me, it's about the same time spent in 2d pixels as with 3d pixels... Maybe because I have some experience in 3d... Oh I would hate to manually edit that gif :O
Great software review and pretty good illustration too... ha ha! Looks very professional to me. The colors on the edge of the grass make sense as safety reflectors for the upgoat when he steps up on the platform. You don't ever wanna trip an upgoat!

I made one today (for monday's post) and it turned out a whole lot better. A lot of the struggle is finding where all the controls are and what they do... Like entire the cockpit of a strange aircraft :)
If you want to try it, it's called MagicaVoxels. It's a lot of fun, and low-polygon 3d is so much easier on my poor notebook that the high end stuff :)
