Hi all!
It's almost a bit embarrassing to post so early after saying that I'm going on a Steemit diet. However, in addition to prioritizing other things ahead of Steemit, I'm also fighting like crazy to become more productive, to simplify and not be a slave to perfectionism. This art is a small victory in that matter, I got this done in a significantly quicker time frame that I usually would. My goal was to have it done in 45 minutes, but it took about double. Still, it's progress and I hope to do better next time.
Working with a timer going is a good way to kick my behind into high gear. I'm doing whatever it takes to balance things out.
Another note, even if I some how manage to keep posting every day, I still want to have 3 more weekly dolphin delegations. I'm not going to go back on my plan.

Clients are WEIRD
The same morning I was deciding to take a break, I got a new assignment, it was supposed to kick off yesterday, but it's already delayed... Another reason I'm posting today. I could decide to prioritize clients ahead of Steemit, but my clients will NEVER make me the priority. So, the tug-of-war between clients and Steemit will continue. It's a tough balancing act.I'm going to make a post soon about the steps I'm taking to reduce burnout and balance work/Steemit, who knows, I might offer an idea or two that may be useful to someone.

Affinity Designer is $50 one-time charge, whereas Creative Cloud is $50 per month. (I hate what Adobe has become). Affinity is the way to go if you want to make stuff like I do. If you want to make @steemitadventure's type work, first you need written permssion from him. Then you need either Autodesk Sketch or Corel Painter.
But a pencil and paper is the best first step. Get to work and start drawing tooth-themed art!

@steemseph ha — I'd thought of this type quite a while ago, but didn't really give much thought to how I'd simplify it into a cube creature :) It was kind of a spur-of-the-moment thing.
I'll have another time lapse out tomorrow (of mr. Puffy).

That's a great interpretation. I've already seen how the spikes kind of lineup in a row in nature, so what you've done looks very similar to me.

I may post a bit less or make simpler posts... And if you think about it, this art took a lot less time that the last one, so it counts as a simpler post.
The thing is, I hate the corporate freelance world, as it's full of dishonesty. But I have to play their stupid games for the time being. I do plan to concentrate more on my business.

It seems like you have a real grasp on your approach to finding a balance. That's really important. I'm glad you're not just winging it and also glad you aren't simply staying away. We selfishly want you around...even if it's without an amazing animated post that took 6 plus hours.

They get this look on them when they expand... You almost want to comfort them, but they're all spiky.
