Can Steemit take some fanart? ^_^ #2

in #art8 years ago (edited)

I started making fanart simply because I wanted to learn how to draw. It was most fun drawing the stuff I loved, so naturally I drew characters from my favorite games and animated movies. Making fanart has allowed me to develop my artistic skills and has made me confident enough to start exploring other art styles as well.

I love making fanart, and, as some of you probably already know, most of my fanart is Pokémon related. I wanted to share with you guys some more of my fanart. This illustration was one of the first I did where I tried out more complex backgrounds with different elements in it.

Johto Region Starters

Totodile, Cyndaquil and Chikorita are the three starter Pokémon of Johto Region - the 2. generation of Pokémon. I never actually played the Johto region games, but if I had I would probably have chosen Chikorita, since I always choose grass. ^_^

I like to draw the characters in my own style and in a scene, and put them in what I imagine to be their natural habitat.

Materials used for these three drawings:

  • Size: A5
  • Paper: Strathmore 300 Series Smooth Bristol
  • Tools: Copic sketch markers, Copic multiliners, Sakura white gel pen

The sketch

I always sketch my drawings in a sketch book or on regular cheap copy paper. Then I use a lightbox to transfer the drawing onto paper that can handle copic markers.

oh, Totodile is such a cute one. You made his eye look so friendly. My favourite! :)

Yeah, he's a cutie ^_^

Love, Love, Love!
You should set up shop, sell them on etsy or something- then you could give the link when you post. Pokemon is big right now, and your drawings are amazing.

Thank you, that's so nice to hear :D I actually have an etsy shop, I make just enough money there to cover my art supplies, which is great for a student like me :) I should add the link to my shop, good idea :D

Yep I think you should, your work attracts so much attention it would be a shame not to! Your work would look great hanging on someone's wall. ( Just need check that there are no Steemit rules on it first.)

:) What kind of rules were you thinking about? Posting links to ones shop?

Yeah, I wanted to check before doing it to my shop too.

These are awesome!

Thanks man :D

Fantastic work and great post! I also draw (fanart and cartoons) too! Have you dabbled in digital media (photoshop, Sai)?

Thank you :D No, I tried digital art for a very short period before I started with traditional media, but it was to hard when I didn't have any drawing experience to begin with... I want to try out digital art when my sketching skills are a bit better, I've only been drawing for a year :)

Great work as always! A pleasure following you ^_^

Thanks a lot <3
