Abstract art uses the visual language of shapes and forms, colors and lines to create an ilussions whocan be taken and seen in many ways! One might see an apple while someone else just sees lines.
Some fall in love right away while other hate these kind of paintings/drawings with a passion! Fact is that abstract drawings have been around for a long time! As an wel known art form for over a hundred years now and some might even say that it started in the time people made those little drawings on the wall of caves!
To me abstract drawing is a world of freedom, no boundaries. You can give the illusion of a forrest without drawing trees. This freedom allows my mind to create things in a way it brings me happiness. I am not a realistic painter or artist. I tried my hand on a few portraits but never felt happy with them. Of course I enjoy seeing them and I take my hat of for those artist who can draw a face so real it makes you scared. Maybe, I don't have the calm one needs for it or maybe I just like to toy to much with colors outside the lines.
When I start with a drawing or painting, I seriously never know what it will become. I have the great lines somewhere in my head but most of the time I just let my big black marker flow where ever it wants to go. Even when I just doodle on a piece of paper, I have no idea what I am about to create! In this case I knew I wanted to create faces but where and how they had to look was still a mystery.
For this painting I used Talens Brush pens!

These brush pens are like HEAVEN! Mostly used for handlettering because that is why they were created in the first place! The tip is like a brush and the ecoline is so bright you really feel like you are painting with a pen! I really enjoy drawing with these but they are not cheap! BUT, worth every penny you spend on them! The quality of the ink is stunning and I even love the blender pen that comes with it! If you look these brush pens up on yourtube you will see the many things you can do with these pens! I paid $42.00 for a set! And I got a new set yesterday! I seriously made a happy dance!
