“Caras vemos, corazones no sabemos” es un dicho popular escuchado en distintas regiones de América Latina que de una manera sarcástica pero real nos da a entender que no podemos confiar en las apariencias de las personas porque no nos dice nada sobre lo que son ni sobre lo que piensan, partiendo de este dicho popular me di cuenta a través del tiempo que somos un cumulo de arquetipos los cuales muestran de nosotros una cantidad de colores que afloran de acuerdo a nuestro estado anímico, si bien sabemos que el color mantiene una postura psicológica y denota características emocionales, me aprovecho de estas para asemejar, comparar, relacionar las actitudes que nos forjan como seres humanos y mostramos día a día dependiendo de el contexto y sentimiento repentino que nos embarga o se apodera de nosotros y de alguna manera se muestra y se hace muy evidente e incontrolable esta aparición del color.
"Faces we see, hearts we do not know" is a popular saying heard in different regions of Latin America that in a sarcastic but real way gives us to understand that we cannot trust the appearances of people because it tells us nothing about what they are or what they think, starting from this popular saying I realized over time that we are a accumulation of archetypes which show of us a number of colors that emerge according to our mood, while we know that color maintains a psychological posture and denotes emotional characteristics, I take advantage of these to resemble, compare, relate the attitudes that forge us as human beings and we show day by day depending on the context and sudden feeling that engouts or takes over us and somehow shows and becomes very evident and uncontrollable this appearance of color.
Algunos pintores buscamos encontrar esa armonía del color en cada pieza para equilibrar y hacer que llegue al espectador de una manera mas penetrante y mas pura, es por ello que yo trato de usar el color puro para generar mayor protagonismo, pues sus tonalidades varían y sus contrastes generan esa ilusión óptica de superposición generando una interferencia visual que desde distintos ángulos sientes que la obra ofrece cierto movimiento y hasta cierto relieve gracias a las capas de color que predominen en la pieza.
Some painters seek to find that harmony of color in each piece to balance and make it reach the viewer in a more penetrating and purer way, that is why I try to use pure color to generate greater prominence, because its tones vary and its contrasts generate that optical illusion of overlap generating visual interference that from different angles feels that the work offers some movement and even some relief thanks to the layers of color prevailing in the piece.
Estas son consideraciones que vengo planteándome desde ya hace varios años atrás buscando de alguna manera entender que es lo que quiero representar y que mejor representación que el rostro o caras que reflejen las emociones a través del color, parto de una idea básica o simple pues quiero enfocarme solo en lo que define una cara como sus ojos, nariz y boca, pero tomando en cuenta lo visceral y lo irracional que siempre formará parte de mi proceso creativo, pues es el subconsciente quien define estas lineas para generar el rostro y el arquetipo al cual me quiero acercar y mostrar.
These are considerations that I have been asking myself for several years now, seeking in some way to understand what I want to represent and what better representation than the face or faces that reflect emotions through color, I start from a basic or simple idea as I want focus only on what defines a face such as its eyes, nose and mouth, but taking into account the visceral and irrational that will always be part of my creative process, since it is the subconscious that defines these lines to generate the face and the archetype at the same time. which I want to approach and show.
Parto de lo abstracto a lo figurativo, quizás mostrando mas afinidad hacia lo neofigurativo y el neoexpresionismo para clasificar mi obra dentro de un estilo pictórico y así poder crear un lenguaje propio sin olvidar lo informal del montaje, en el proceso trato de mostrar la figura que va creando el mismo color, pues es el quien da la definición a las caras como lo mencione antes mediante sus contrastes y superposiciones; esta pieza que muestro en esta publicación es de este año 2021, luego de una serie de problemas personales decidí dialogar de una manera sana, para tener paz mental por sobre todas las cosas y gracias a este paso pude generar estas dos caras con las cuales planteo un Dialogo en una atmósfera de color bastante fuerte, pues la situación que vivimos a diario ha traído consigo arquetipos que afloran de una manera bastante ruda, agresiva e impulsiva.
I start from the abstract to the figurative, perhaps showing more affinity towards the neo-figurative and neo-expressionism to classify my work within a pictorial style and thus be able to create my own language without forgetting the informality of montage, in the process I try to show the figure that he is creating the same color, since he is the one who gives the definition to the faces as mentioned before by means of their contrasts and superpositions; This piece that I show in this publication is from this year 2021, after a series of personal problems I decided to dialogue in a healthy way, to have peace of mind above all things and thanks to this step I was able to generate these two faces with which I raise a Dialogue in an atmosphere of quite strong color, since the situation we live in daily has brought with it archetypes that emerge in a quite rude, aggressive and impulsive way.
En este momento decido cambiar ciertos colores para darle mejor definición a varios elementos de las caras, elementos que serán compartidos como la nariz que se vuelve una sola y a la vez pertenece a los dos rostros que planteo, pero me doy cuenta que el marco sobresaliente es marrón y no le va nada bien a la composición, ademas se ve super tosco y con un mal acabado, es por ello que decido recortarlo y ademas pintarlo de blanco para darle mayor relevancia y así forme parte de la composición.
At this moment I decide to change certain colors to give better definition to various elements of the faces, elements that will be shared such as the nose that becomes one and at the same time belongs to the two faces that I propose, but I realize that the outstanding frame is Brown and the composition does not go well at all, it also looks super rough and with a bad finish, that is why I decide to cut it and also paint it white to give it more relevance and thus form part of the composition.
Y es de esta manera que logro concluir la obra y conseguir la satisfacción plena luego de detallarla desde distintos ángulos y distancias, espero sus criticas, sus comentarios y saber que causa esta obra en ustedes al apreciarla.
And it is in this way that I manage to conclude the work and achieve full satisfaction after detailing it from different angles and distances, I await your criticism, your comments and know what this work causes in you when you appreciate it.
