The world cup has begun! Just yesterday I had to race against time to finish this piece before Russia 2018 started officially. I had just remembered to do something about the world cup two hours before the first game was to start.
This piece was inspired by the three teams I'm supporting at the event which are Nigeria (my country), Brazil and Argentina (for my love of Neymar Jr and Lionel Messi 🙌). I picked the best stars from the teams from my drawing, the last of which is Alex Iwobi, a Nigerian forward. I also wanted to finish the drawing before the first game to gain bragging rights about declaring my favorite teams before the first kick off...petty right? I was able to finish it 30 minutes before the game started though.
With all the rushing, forgive me for not taking progress shots 🙏. I had to expressionism (kinda) instead of realism this time.
