Design for Honey Festival

New Design for the 2018 Oregon Honey Festival

I had created the design for the Oregon Honey Festival (used on T-shirts, etc) that has been used for the last 2 years. It was time for a new design.

I created this design using Photoshop. (I really need to learn how to use Illustrator. I'm working on it. But for now, I'm more comfortable with Photoshop.) I took my original acrylic painting I did last fall, traced the bee in Photoshop (half of it, and then did a reverse & repeat - so it is symmetrical). Put the hearts in the wings. I've been adding hearts to a lot of my art pieces lately. I then added the honeycomb, and added the Cascade Girl logo, which I had to re-vamp for this design.

Here's the painting I used as inspiration:

I created both a black on white version and a white version so that they have options for using it on either a dark or light-colored t-shirt. Not quite sure which one they are going to go with yet. But, here are a couple screen shots I took while playing around with the image on a T-shirt website. This was before I did the final edits on the design and added my signature - FYI.

The 2018 Oregon Honey Festival will take place this year on Saturday, August 18 at the Ashland Elks Lodge. I will probably be vending during the festival this year.. I'll have my bee-themed art, greeting cards and my new honeybee stickers! This is always a fun festival - so much honey-tasting!!! Yum!!

Gorgeous design and works well on the merchandising too. I hope this creates the right buzz!

Hee hee! "Buzz" That's cute! I'll have to tell Sharon (who hosts the festival) about that pun! ;)
