One thing I love about giving love is that it has a tradition of warmth.
Giving love to Banawen Elementary School is one of the projects of @maverickinvictus. You can check there fund raising program or Gift in Kind School Supplies project t-shirt design contest here.
"GIKF whole-heartedly thanks all the people that donated and volunteered. One hundred kids from Banawen Elementary School will be able to study properly. We hope that you will never tire from helping them.
This is my contribution for this wonderful contest and when it comes to kids my hard as a rock heart suddenly soften because of there beautiful smiles. I'm really jealous with this project because for a long time I keep looking this kind of group that will make a change for those who still cannot. I hope I can find a group same as GIKF.
I was inspired byFrank Shepard Fairey, an American contemporary street artist, graphic designer, activist, illustrator and founder of OBEY Clothing who emerged from the skateboarding scene. (Googled)

I was automatically hooked by his perspective on his art. Only using 2-3 colors on every artwork making the piece more special. So, I think I can make this kind of art style and bring it to a movement since helping and sharing is the point of this artwork. I used warm colors for this because for me helping and sharing is a form of love. And love is also a form of warmth. So, how about we unite both. Art and Love.
I. The Process
The process that I will be using for tracing is creating shape. I'm tracing the subject while my shape is Filled with a color.I looked for references that I can illustrate since I'm so bad in drawing and painting. And I found this beautiful Aeta girl.
II. Making Shapes by Tracing it
So, I bring it up to Adobe Illustrator and started to trace some shapes.
- I maintained the Analogous Colors rule to stick with the beside color of your main color. I used Red, so I'll be using the shade of orange and red.
- I am using pink for the shirt so that it will standout among the warm midtones.
- This is the colors that I used for this, PS. I used the color #f16a71 for the pink shirt.
- The trick for this kind of artwork is that the limited of number of colors only can be used. It's tough and the same time it breaks your own shell. Jumping on an obstacle which is your limits.
- As you can see, I'm having a hard time on the head part. So, I decided to add hair on it and it shows more joy from the beautiful smile of this child.
And with some final touches. Here's the final design
I dedicate this artwork to the students of Banawen Elementary School and I fully support this project by @maverickinvictus. Thank you for sharing this to us. Thanks for being the light for this kids and the community. I hope you liked the design that I made. And I hope you guys would also help the project to grow and will gain more resources to help others.
