This is still very very rough. I put the main details down roughly in acrylic, and I've just started applying oils to the canvas, starting at the bottom. You can see how much smoother that is already than the top.
The background will be distant willows, and after I fill in most of the water and reflections, then I'll put the lily pads and flowers down in earnest. Much easier, I think.
The throne and deadwood around it are a bit inchoate, as is the body of the queen. I'm going to build her royal attire around her as I go. I like the idea of clothing design. It's another little something I'd love to do, eventually.
Yesterday, I spent quite a bit of time working on frames. I got through about a third of the work so far! Another couple days of work, and I'll have them ready.
Today, I'm going to put some time into that, and hopefully into finishing the commission I'm working on.
