HISTORY OF RANUB LAMPUAN DANCE
Ranup Lampuan Dance is one of the monumental works of art exhibited by Aceh artists. Ranup Lampuan in Aceh language, means betel in puan. Puan is a typical betel nut in Aceh. Dance work that has a background in this tradition choreographically tells how the habits of the Acehnese people welcome these guests every movement has its own meaning. Like the gesture of greeting, picking betel leaves and then removing the stalk, cleaning betel leaves, applying lime, then giving gambir and areca nut, to serve betel leaves for those who came. The late Yusrizar, who was born in Banda Aceh on July 23, 1937, is a phenomenal creator of Ranup Lam Puan Dance. Ranup's ability to meet him in 1959.
