Teh 3D Ninja

Hello Everyone

I decided to come back and make another post about how I made this Ninja in 3D. Actually this little project has been on the back burner for quite some time. I just gotten around on finally finishing it not too long ago. So I hope you guys enjoy the post.

Inspiration

I pretty much took after Super Bomberman's character art style because I think it looks cool, it's very simplistic, and overall cute. ʕノ•ᴥ•ʔノ. I use to play the game way back in the day when I was kid on the Dream Cast (such good times). If you guys wanna check out my post on a Bomberman drawing I made, click here. That was about 3 years ago, hot diggity damn man. That was so long ago. Fuuuuuu

Blender

My go to program for anything, and I mean anything. ಠ_ಠ I'm not really a modeler when it comes to making characters. But, I guess I am??? I just try to make simple shapes to cut down on my workload as much is possible. A simple sphere or box and then I'll work over that to get the shape I want. Like chewing 50 packs of bubble gum and morphing it into some monstrosity (lol).

Texturing

I wasn't really sure what kind of color I should go for, for the little guy, so I thought that most ninjas go for a dark blue color to blend in at nighttime. So I just went with that. Furthermore, I went into the node editor to give it that toon look like in Bomberman. By doing the same technique in my last animation project for texturing, you get these results. Then after that, I do the same for the face, the eyes, eyebrows, and the mutha fooking scarf. Why? Because it looks hella badass!!!

Armature

So, this is the process that can either make, or break the model. It means further work for me unfortunately . I need to see how well the bones react to the model. In this case, it flew with flying colors! Everything seems to be working perfectly. The adding in the bones process can be very challenging at times. It's a back in forth kind of process. Seeing if the limbs are moving probably with the bones.

All Done

Well actually, lastly I paired a sword that I was using in a previous project to the little guy's hand to finish the look off. Every ninja needs a sword to take with them on their adventures. I honestly don't know what I'm going to this with this character. I could internalize into a nft so he can be trapped forever in the digital space or make some kind of animation. Either way, I think this turned out really good. I always feel good to be working on something that I'm passionate about.

This definitely looks like it came from an old video game,
the look I was going for.

Bro you’re a beast at this stuff. Now I feel like there needs to be a Bomberman-type game with ninjas.

That would be pretty awesome 😎 and thank you. I gotta try and crank out some more art projects.
