Thought that was a pussy cat at first. Foxes and cats do resemble each other. Love the Autumn colors.
Cats and foxes do look alike when sitting all curled up in a furry ball. I've read the foxes nature is like a cross between the domestic dog and cat as well.

Yes, they hunt the same type of prey, that maybe why they have similar builds. Autumn is a lovely show, nice entertainment before winter comes and dull greys rule the day!

Foxes are always watching. And check the perimeter more often then you do.
The trouble with such pictures, is that the idea is simple... and then you have to paint all of those leaves, that nature just piles up soo easily.
I need to practice on the chaos and the rhythm in nature, leaves are perfect teachers. I still haven't perfected fallen leaves. By the time winter arrives hopefully I will finally grok fallen leaves ;-)
Yeah, and foxes will dig under chicken wire and also climb over it. We had to use chicken wired moveable cages to protect our chickens from hawks, coyotes, and foxes.

Perfect poem to pair with this painting. I love how cute and cuddly the little fox looks, but very shallow underneath is a cold blooded predator. Nature.

This really great. Seeing the entire painting process is so much like writing a blog except rather than words it is with color. I love the fall. It is very slow coming to us this year. Usually it begins in September and it's pretty much freezing by now, but instead summer has decided not to let go. It's actually really odd to be in shorts and t-shirts at this time of year. I shouldn't complain because Winter Is Coming, haha, off topic, but that was a brilliant catchphrase for GOT, now you can't think that without it coming to mind.
I shouldn't complain, but I am worried that fall will be skipped over. The leaves are starting to change, but the air...it's not just that it's warm, sometimes in late summer it can be warm and I'll still feel Fall on the air, do you know what I mean? Anyway, I don't feel it right now, that particular quality to the breeze, the slightly darker hue of the daylight.
Sorry it's been awhile since I've visited, I always enjoy coming here!
