I had a lot of fun painting this portrait for my Husband's Birthday present. I've painted portraits a couple times before I came to the Steemit platform. However, I never practiced drawing people consistently.
Steemit has pushed me to stretch my skillset to remain relevant as an artist. You have to create something new every week or people forget about you, heck people forget about you within a couple hours.

Yeah, I defiantly have struggled to get noticed and I think it has improved my skills as an artist and a writer. But my brain feels like a bowl full of jello right now....thank you @trendo!

I love my husband so much, maybe this is why I had so much fun with this piece. Or maybe I just like painting action pieces. I will definitely paint more sports figures!

I know Eric, I watch him play when my husband watches the matches. I am going to paint a family athlete next...but right now I am doing a commission work to hang in someone's living room. I just finished researching and I will be drawing it out tomorrow. Prolly won't see me for a couple days cause I will be playing with my paints.

@reddust Agreed this is a really competitive community where people forget you after a while but I don't think people will forget such a great artist... If you draw this well than sooner or later you are going to succeed no matter people remember you or not.
