A few days into the new year, everything is pretty much back to normal... whatever that might be. I thought, its time to go for another visit to the Temple of the Secrets and start with the second half of my interpretation of the 22 major arcana of the Tarot.
If you are interested in the other Cards, there are links to the related posts at the end.
Today's theme is "XI - Force"
There are different schools of thought and in some tarot decks VIII and XI are the other way round. To me this arrangement made more sense in the end.
As in previous posts about my tarot, I look at this row of the 22 major arcana, the trump cards of the tarot, as the description of a human life, commonly known as the journey of the fool. In the cards we have seen so far, our soul was born into this world, guided by divine parents and a child was raised by earthly mother and father. We were given education and divine blessings. We fell in love, left the parents house to venture out into the big wide world and also learned responsibility. We saw the light of wisdom and learned to accept the ups and downs of life...
At this point, it is now time to take a look at ourselves. The card "XI - Force" is also called "The Affectionate Taming" and refers to our "inner beast". According to C.J. Jung, every person has a so called "shadow", a part of our personality, we are not particularly fond of, in extreme cases even completely reject. I can easily get scared looking down into the abyss of the dark parts of my soul.
But this isn't, what the card is all about. What we really should learn here, is to make peace with ourselves. Trying to lock up and denying the monster will only increase its anger, potentially causing some major problems. Instead, it is important to aknowledge this part of the self and learn to accept it.
In my painting, by embracing the monster, the personality becomes complete, destructive forces are turned to passion and the inner beast no longer poses a threat.
I'm sure @erh.germany and @abigail-dantes would be able to give much more in depth information on the psychological aspects of this card. They both wrote some really fascinating posts about psychology and if you find the subject interesting, you should definitely take a look at their blogs!
The Temple of the Secrets was part of the museum I ran for twenty years. I also lived in that same building. It is the oldest in my hometown, built in 1432! To get to my flat, one had to go through the museum and it was pretty cool, to have that as the "entrance hall"
We had some 400 museums quality replicas of ancient Egyptian artifacts, like parts of King Tut's treasure.
I always liked the display with the scribes and papyrus. There were also statues of the ancient Egyptian god Thoth, who was depicted in the shape of an ibis or baboon.
Of course, we also had a Nefertiti. Back then the original was on display in the Egyptian Museum in Berlin. But there was a rumor, that they also only showed a replica...
If you like ancient Egypt, make sure you follow @laylahsophia's blog!
We also had a section about ancient Greece,
with one of my favorites being the "Head of Medusa"
Quite the opposite of this gruesome mythical creature is my favorite greek steemian @ruth-girl! She writes interesting educational/science posts and beautiful stories.

My tarot cards were done in my special technique as introduced in What is Hinterglas?
I thought it would be time to visit your atelier again and then you got me by surprise as I've been mentioned with my "psyche"-fellow:-) Thank you, Reinhard!
When I saw that Tarot Cards were it, I felt excited and then the picture unfolded and I thought: Well, this is it! It really describes how I feel it and what is good to integrate. Hug the beast.
Jung was right and integration of all what is dark in ourselves is a very significant work.
That you do your thing as an artist and give vision to it, completes it. I find it ever so important to build bridges between disciplines. No matter if we are writers, artists, programmers, bikers, hikers, techs or engineers: we all cary our shadows and can start to embrace them.
Thank you for this wonderful peace of art. I really would like to purchase it. One day I will! Please keep it :-)
P.S. and hello, wonderful @laylahsophia! <3
Glad to see, you came over for a visit and that you, as someone who knows the subject, agree 🤩
I too find it important, to build bridges. That's why I like it here on steemit, and although I'm mostly looking at art related content, there is always something (or someone) else calling for attention.
The original painting is part of a larger work of art, consisting of 66 individual pieces, but I offer reproductions in various sizes and media. And I do take steem/SBD 😉😉
Great!
I'll be fine then with a reproduction - I am going to contact you tomorrow in the chat.
P.S. your entrance back then must have indeed thrilled your visitors! I bet everyone was over impressed!
Alright, always enjoy a little chat :-)
Haha... awesome entrance, but.. my "studio", where I painted the tarot cards was 10 square meters, one small window in a 90cm wall and practically no heat 😬
"Taking it in its deepest sense, the shadow is the invisible saurian tail that man still drags behind him. Carefully amputated, it becomes the healing serpent of the mysteries. Only monkeys parade with it." - Carl Jung
That's it! 🐉
In München übrigens.. Hajo Banzhaf, falls Dir der Name was sagt. Ist leider sehr früh gestorben.
Tolles Kompliment, vielen herzlichen Dank dafür!
Oh - ich kenn Hajo vom Namen her -
war bekannt in der sogenannten Eso-Scene ,
ist aber schon lange her...
Schade - manche gehen einfach zu früh ...
Gerne geschehen - Du machst Kunst auf sehr hohem Niveau :-)
Are you selling this set?
That is a good question!
Its not available as a physical deck of cards, one can actually use. I only made a limited edition "reproduction" of my cards, printed on acrylic glass, to resemble the originals. All in a special made wooden case...
Each deck signed and numbered, with audio CD and booklet (in German). 490,- Euro or the corresponding amount of steem/SBD
I know it sounds expensive, but its been a project with lots of problems to be solved and each box still involves a lot of work...
Oh my goodness! Totally worth it! I would love to have this in my collection.
Times are good, so if you tend to your steemit account nicely, it won't be long :-)
very nice! It looks like a difficult shaped box to make.
Yes, the box is pretty complex and particularly the rounded shape is challenging. The lid is made of very expensive wood and has my logo in real gold embossing!
This has to be one of my favorite posts of the day! All those Egyptian treasures andvthe movement in the hair of your art...... swoon!
Oh you! And this is one of the most favorite comments, particularly since I know that you have such impecable fine taste!
You’re a darling! Happy Saturday to you!
I love it.
I've never seen a tarot deck that uses color as well as you.
Amazing again.
That's a big compliment for someone who knows the subject the way you do, thank you!!
I totally agree with you!
WHHHOoooaaa!! The oldest 1432 house in the hood with an Egyptian tomb entrance and beautiful art as always. You are a fascinating dude unequivocally.
Plus I got some really cool music to listen to, thanks to you!!!
Cool cards! I hope you will join #ao project, a community of artists online
More information at #ao this week only
Thanks a lot for the invitation. I'm not sure I understand the workings, but I will take another look for sure!
Thanks for checking it out I would love your work to be featured on there if possible! By joining you can use the account @art4sbd to feature fine art to sell or broker for sbd.
Items like this are purchased by sending sbd to the owner of the item with a shipping address in the memo.
Currently a year subscription to this service is only 0.001 sbd just send one of my accounts this amount with join or something to that effect in the memo and you will have access to this service and much more.
I hope to turn this account into a full time decentralized business for the steem community.
Currently there is only one thing for sale at $44,000 sbd but I will be adding more items soon. Anyone can make a percentage of the sale price of these items by being a member and sharing the listing to someone who buys it.
So beautiful picture.
Thank you very much!
This card has a beautiful explanation!! Embracing our inner beast, making peace with our darkness and moving on...
I bet living in a museum was quite a "girl-catcher" :P
PS: Thank you for the witty mention ;)
I am very happy you liked my little story. Haha.. that building also had a lot of problems.. with walls up to 1,5m it was a real refrigerator for instance.. bit of a turn off for girls ;-)
wow - great reminder - I've seen this a couple of times. Too bad you had to move out of that building. It was a great place!
It was great, but there is a time for everything I guess. Like it better here now :-)
Simply great a piece of artwork! Full of motion and power. Tame the lion, but he will always prevail. :)
Thank you for mentioning my blog, @reinhard-schmid. Appreciate it!
Thank you for stopping by! Your posts about Egyptiology often remind me of the time when I had my museum, glad you don't mind the mention :-)
What a grand entrance hall! I bet you were careful to wipe your feet before you came inside on a muddy day.
I have mixed feelings about staying in touch with our Jungian dark side. I used to think it was important to let it out a little so that it didn't build up too much pressure and explode. But now I wonder if that's not just giving it sunlight, and it might be better to let it wither up and away.
Hehe.. there was an entrance before the entrance.. long way to get rid of the mud ;-)
Making me curious... I'm going to do the "revealyourdarksidechallenge" next 😁 You are nominated! (giggle)😜
Hmm... photography, art, or writing?
I'll have to check in with the fellow. He's been bricked up under the floorboards for quite some time now...
Thanks for the link to here! THIS IS AWESOME. Time for some serious reading and studying... I am excited to get going. Starting with sorting out my birth card/number. Woo Hoo!
Oh, saw this just now, sorry for my late reply. Glad you like my work :-)
Wow. This is weird. So I calculated my birth number according to your system and the card ruling it is Justice (8). I don't have a card called Force so I looked up what the 11 is in my deck and its ha ha JUSTICE. How is that for a cosmic message?
Those two cards positions are reversed in some decks. To me it made more sense the way I positioned them.
So happy to find Force/Strength on 11 and not 8. I've written long essays trying to explain why it matters to get it "right"!
I did a lot of my deck based on intuition. In the end it just made more sense to me this way. Is your essay published anywhere online? I'd like to read it.
No, it's not on-line, but your work is surely making my fingers itch to dig it back up out of my bottom drawer. Might make a post!
Hi! I don't know if you remember me, but I just posted a post about nude yoga, sure you like it! Kisses! <3 : )
