Slickers, thanks for the info, dear Rich. Here in Italy we don't use a name just for this kind of raincoats, but just "impermeabile" , that's the word for "raincoat" and for the adjective "water proof" ^_^ Warm hugs to you all <3
They used to make them of oilcloth and paint it with shellac, that's why they were "slick."
