What do you do when your at your lowest? Again for the fourth day of the week I am tired and gloomy for no reason. In search for motivation again I spent my vacant time through drawing.
Drawing is a great way to stimulate the brain. I remember a lesson we had in Pshycology when I was in college about the Stimulus Response Theory by Pavlov. The classical theory was having the concept of consistent response to a predictable action.
So I am trying this as stimulant these days so that it might have a consistent response. I am predicting that whenever I'll start to draw I'll be happy not salivate just like the dog in the experiment.haha Drawing let's us express differently, whether about what we feel, what we want or what we vision about.
Drawing has a lot of benefits I will just cite some that I know of.
- It's a happy pill, people who are sad draw to become happy.
- It's a way to express hidden feelings, I remember someone who draws about a sad portrait of a woman. Behind story of that person is, he sees sadness in his mothers eyes.
- Children with mental disabilities draw to prevent them from having tantrums.
- It's a great therapy to people experiencing depression.
- It's a great stress releiver. People who work much don't have any outlet in their hectic schedule.
- And it's a great past time.
You don't have to be an ARTIST to draw, you don't even need to draw a perfect portrait to call it ART.
I do believe that when we were born it is innate that we have the ability to draw. See how children spend too much time scribbling. You can notice that nobody teaches them to draw but by simply giving them a pencil or crayon they start to draw something. You don't really see a a picture perfect in what they do, but it is Art.
Art is a creative expression that can make us a happier person. Being able to draw can distract our brain from dealing with problems or stress.
Through drawing you can communicate and meditate. Giving you the chance to be with yourself which we seldom do. We are too preoccupied by our daily routines. But through drawing we concentrate on doing only one. It's important to have a a silent time.
During our application as Public School Teacher we were required to pass the Neuro Pshyco Exam where they asked us to draw something it was actually funny making us draw simple things like a house or a person. But through that drawing they can assess what kind of person you are and what your brain is capable of. So students must worry all public teachers are psychologically stable..haha
So here is the finished product of my gloominess. So if you wish to divert your feelings and don't have the money to go out or eat out might as well get a piece of paper and start to draw. Do you have other ways to relieve your stress?
Realizations:
What you tell yourself everyday will either lift you UP or tear you DOWN
