Hello Dear Friends!
Here's another Shiny Forest ghost for you :)
As I said in my previous post, recently I've struggled very hard to post regularly on Steemit, and I felt really passionate about finding a way to overcome this struggle and to stay in touch with you :)
I also had several new fantastic inspirations in my head that I really wanted to tell you all about, so here we are :)
I enjoy imagining forest ghosts in their natural habitat, but so far I've portrayed them almost always half-hidden, still, wary and observing only. Now I'm constantly drawing them in relaxed, playful poses. I'm calling that a progress (and also my subconscious is demanding more rest, I guess ;P)
Here's the finished piece:
Pen and ink on paper, 21x29,7 cm
THE INSPIRATION AND STORY BEHIND TODAY'S GHOST
This particular forest ghost likes to chill out upon the cushiony, springy moss. Thinking about it makes me really miss spring and want to go for a walk in a green forest. But we still have snow in Warsaw, so... April, I'm counting really hard on you to finally bring some good weather!
Besides from the anime and emoji inspiration mentioned in my previous post, I wanted to tell you about a very talented, prolific and a bit mysterious artist, illustrator and tattooist - Anna Zawadzka. I've known Anna for some time now. Throughout years Anna has created the most amazing set of illustrations starring a one-legged bunny, who is a hero to many internal, as well as external, but always fascinating adventures. Just take a look at those stunning pictures:
The source: Anna's fanpage on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/zielonybeznogi/
Anna has a very unique and imaginative artistic style. I find the colorfulness of her illustrations to be beautiful, psychedelic and mesmerizing, and the narrative of her artworks full of different, fascinating meanings. Anna is soon publishing her beautiful story in form of a children's book, and I can't wait for it to be available to buy! I'm looking forward to read the novel and finally get to know the full story behind Anna's mysterious visions. This is going to be interesting!
It may be so that my illustrations will evolve into some less or more coherent storyline, we'll have to wait and see about that! All I can say for now is that I have really really grown into enjoying my attempts at drawing them, and observing Anna's progress has been always a great inspiration to me.
I warmly invite you to visit Anna's fanpage on Facebook- Anna Zawadzka - rysunki, tatuaże, obrazki. and Instagram account- msflyingsquirrel, to see more of her amazing art for yourself :)
As I said before, I feel that my ghosts could've waited much, much longer for coming into life and appearing in so many of my artworks, if it wasn't for this platform. My presence in Warsaw Fantasy Fair last weekend has reminded me once again, what a big role has Steemit played in my artistic progress. Here you can see me at my stand at the Fair, with some of my illustrations in the background.
Me- not the most photogenic person in the world, at the Warsaw Fantasy Fair - Spring 2018 Edition
For couple of years before Steemit I restricted myself mostly to handicraft and linocuts, because I had so little time to pursue my other artistic goals and projects. Spending this otherwise cold and lonely winter with Steemit, allowed me to start with something new and refreshing and connect with other artists, as some of my less tangible art was able to transpire beyond my inner world. And the Warsaw Fantasy Fair has also turned out to be a wonderful opportunity for me to speak to some really great and unbelievably talented Polish artists. I can't wait to tell you all about them!
I'm very curious, if you had a similar experience with Steemit. Did it allow you to connect to other passionate people from your area of interest, and how did such encounter worked out for you! :)
And now to say a word or two about the step by step progress of artwork :)
STAGES OF WORK
- A delicate pencil sketch!
- Redrawing with pen!
- Adding some initial shading (stippling) and textures!
- Shading and texturing intensifies...
- And finally, a ready piece :)

I hope you've enjoyed my Shiny Forest ghost :)

I'm very grateful for all the kindness, support and inspiration I've received so far here on Steemit! I appreciate that a lot, guys, and as always...
You know I really like your artwork and love to hear from you, but on the other hand think you should not pressure yourself to much. Sometimes you need more time to just be without a bad conciseness for not writing/painting/etc enough. I appreciate your writing and sketching regardless of the frequency you post.
With this said: lovely post 💕 It is so cool to see you on the fair surrounded by artwork and (hopefully rich) customers. You look beautiful and are surely photogenic.
And I also like the artist you presented, especially the painting with the balloon and the tiny rabbit – I will go and research her.
And now to your question: for me steemit helps me to not only produce, but also to think, explain and write about my work, which is very helpful (but as you said, also sometimes time consuming). And besides this, sitting/standing in your room or atelier can be lonely and is nice to connect to other creative people - so I am happy I found you 💐 🌸 🌷
A very lovely post! I would create similar beings and use colours. I'll show them later, maybe. It would be too much at the moment.
I just came over to your post having a bit more leisure time at the moment, therefore visiting my followers. So much happens on Steemit that you have to renew a connection from time to time!
Hi Klaudia (and Klaudia's lil ghost) ! So nice to see another post from you <3 And such a lovely post~ I love the relaxed ghost on the moss here, and the little foliage seems also to be very relaxed and happy :D
The story about how Steemit affects you makes me happyhappy ^____ ^ I am glad I have gotten to know Klaudia through Steemit <3 It is a good way to connect to the world and to other people :D
Also, Anna's style is amazing, and beautiful, and colourful and really adventurous! Her bunny must have gone to many interesting and exciting journeys <3 Thank you for sharing these with meeeee :D :D :D :D
Hope you are having a good day, Klaudiaaaaa

nice drawing ,. do you draw using a digital tool?
First, I love this ghost character! Want to see how this develops. Second, a Fantasy Fair?! Never heard of one. Seems pretty cool to have exhibited at one!
Steemit also helped me derive inspiration from other artists (you included!) and got me back to sketching and drawing regularly. I don't post as regularly as I should on Steemit either but I keep coming back to see what other artists have been up to.
I like your little Ghost sticker-stories. Nice photo at the Fair. I use to go on events like this to sell art and face paint.
I dig the artist's work that you linked and, of course, your ghostie is phenomenal. You have such a unique style, and I'm super psyched that you're going to be posting more!
