Today, Feb. 10, 2025, is my 7 year anniversary on Hive.
I was recently talking to a friend and telling her about my blog and how it is a combination of art and travel blogs. Seven years ago I didn't know quite what to expect when I joined Steem. @jarvie introduced me to the platform and some great people and I still have super fond memories of Photo Games. I didn't know at that time the direction my blog would take. I have let it grow organically and blogged about things I enjoy. I am happiest blogging about Travel and Art and sometimes other random things, especially when I am inspired by ideas from others or community challenges like @livinguktaiwan and @mipiano's #ThreeChallengesCommunity.
Oregon Coast- I got to spend time on the coast two times this year.
Art
I am so grateful for this platform as a place for me to explore different aspects of art. I even started the Art Talk community in 2021.
For 5 years I had a special theme to my art talk blog posts. It gave me a lot of focus and direction.

Travel
A big thanks to @pinmapple and now @worldmappin for a great community to share our travel content with each other. It is so fun to see posts from people all over. Shout out to @tattoodjay for Wednesday Walk, it is fun to see where people are walking all around the world.
I started a series for myself called Share our World. I share a piece of the world and a look at it through my lens.

The reasons that I am still here are the people, the opportunity to express myself both written and through photography and I really like that Hive is a place I can document my life and look back and see what my years have been like. As I scroll through all my posts I see how much my life has changed in these 7 years (we all went through COVID, and the change from Steem to Hive, my mom died, I traveled a lot and saw more of this beautiful world and met great people, including at HiveFest, I back backed for the first time, I have taken a lot of classes...stained glass, art history, and glass blowing. This look back also allows me to see what an interesting and beautiful life I have.
Here is to another year ahead.

Thank you Pauline. I really didn't know what to expect I don't know if I thought how much time I would be blogging. I guess I thought until I didn't have anything to blog about. Hopefully I never run out of interesting things to blog about and I will be around for a long time to come. Yes, it is fun to make real friends through Hive.
All the best for future - I hope Hive will not only survive in this crypto world but also develop and become one of the largest blog platforms one day - and then, such "dinosaurs" like us (I joined in January 2018) will be the ones who have the biggest experiences and can share it with others (like a pioneers of crypto-blogging world :).

But nice how the stats have been through out these years and I agree with you on this to most...To me Hive is more like an XL diary where you can see how it all changed and shifted what you were working on

Time passes very fast, I consider it just a number, 7 years is a lot or it is a little, to be able to keep yourself here all the time we can talk about performance, this can be seen just by visiting your blog for a few minutes.

A huge amount of work done in 7 years - how do you have enough time for all this?
Good question. I have cut back on the amount of posts I do each week. I am working on finding a good balance between living, posting and commenting on others posts too.

Me too, I've been posting for 7 years but sadly the whales that vote you used to vote all my nature photo posts. Then they stopped, so it's been sad for me on Hive, very disappointing to see a 10x drop in votes since those whales dumped me. No readership, no comments, pathetic.
