Just SomeDingus here again to show you one of the knives I've made. This is the 3rd Knife I ever made. Made from an old Nicholson file, brass pins, black liner and rosewood scales. It had about another 2 inches on the length of the blade but after warping in the quenching process, I tried to fix the bend and it broke. I was pretty upset but I continued on to finish a blade that I was still very proud of and sold in a charity auction.
Also banana for scale!
Trying to get more involved here on Steemit so please leave a comment and let me know what you think!
good job and the pin is very beautiful
quenched in oil?

Thanks! Since this was my first full quench, I did it in oil and wasn't happy. Then my smart self used water, big mistake!
oil is always the best method, water dissipates too much energy quickly

Yup. Learned that the hard way. Now anytime I see someone go for the water on Forged in Fire I start yelling “NOO” at the TV. Lol
