'Guitar Zone' - Digital matte painting

in #art8 years ago (edited)

Hey there you good looking people! Thought I'd share some of my artwork. This one is called 'Guitar Zone'. The idea came about when I was at work watching some of the inmates playing guitar. Despite being incarcerated they seemed very content and at peace with life when they were in their zone playing guitar. I finished work for the day, got home and started painting at this is what came out.

It was created in Photoshop with a mix of images and free hand brush strokes. Generally I freehand my artwork but felt for this idea I could get it out of my head quickly by using a digital matte technique. If you'd like to know any more about the process please let me know :)

I still have a long way to go as an artist and would genuinely and greatly appreciate any critique or follows. I try to paint at least once every 2-3 days (life pending) so if you follow me I'd love to hear any ideas you have for my next creation.

Good stuff man. One suggestion for the next piece is to experiment with making only certain parts really saturated/bright. You did thisreally successfully on the first post with the ribs/water. So if the guitar is the focal point perhaps the amp and the fish could be less saturated/bright.

Keep doing your thing!

Thankyou man, much appreciated. Totally agree! Too much for the eyes or something, too busy. Cheers!
