Your universal translator may be faulty

Yeah mine and a whole lot of other people, even thousands who have left the platform, we are always wrong and you are always right. That's the whole problem with this platform, bots never argue against your point(s). That's why ultimately you and those like you will forever hold this place down from thriving. You guys can literally be a joke, laughable to say the least, you guys are so obvious you should have a saying: Like father like sock.

Strange when my main motivation is to make Steem succeed and I give up rewards to help others, but some people choose what they want to see. They tend to be those who just took and gave nothing back. Still got plankton accounts flagging me after I addressed their bot abuse a year ago. Imagine if nobody had ever taken them on...

I fully admit there are serious issues with retention and I'm looking for ways to fix that because I give a shit.

Cry me a rainbow when people like myself spends countless hours on here engaging and once spent hours on stuff to post while playing by the rules that saw rarely any recognition, response, and slight rewards then sit by and watch as you wave in a group of people who can post a picture with the word HI! and make as much as I did spending hours writing stuff...sometimes ten fold what I'd get. Not even three months later that person is half way to dolphin....yeah you care all right.

Well you obviously have your own fictional ideas about what I am like, but there is no secret chatroom where we plot the downfall of regular Steemians. I have done okay, but the way things are going I am on cents per hour for my tens of thousands of posts and comments. I am obviously doing it wrong. I do get votes from some big accounts, but some of them I have met at Steemfest or other events. I find making friends is a good way to make progress. You seem to give me too much credit as it's not me bringing in Instagrammers who could bring in thousands more. I can only give them a few cents with a vote anyway. The whales and orcas have it in their power to decide who gets the big rewards and we have to hope they make the right choices. Of course some of them use their power purely for personal gain. Maybe you should question their motives. I'll keep trying to help people get somewhere and recruit more where I can. That is what makes me happy. What do you do for fun?

No, there is a backroom where you plot who gets downvoted, you are part of steemflagrewards right?

The chances that most those accounts on appics are legit and not socks is pretty good. I think the where you miss is the point where we get these people who gain so much power from cheating then it's near impossible to reign in the behavior later when they rule the roost. It takes an incredible amount of power coming together to gain back control. APPICS was a failing ap on another blockchain, Instagrammers weren't interested in joining them. Why would they as most people aren't interested in crypto sites. On that blockchain the highest level of participation by an ap saw six thousand people and that wasn't APPICS. (Knowing the blockchain and how it operates you could take half to three quarters of that number and attribute it to socks) The chances that any "live" accounts on APPICS is going to come here and participate on this site isn't likely....and why would the owner of APPICS want that?....as she is taking a cut of what they make?....why would she encourage a loss to herself? I've done enough digging to be convinced they are farming dead accounts off Instagram, using mannequins/dolls then using their own bots to upvote that content....these are the people you think will be good for this platform? Not to mention the total slap in the face it is to everyone else on here that such behavior as posting a picture with HI! or two, three words and getting rewarded would find themselves downvoted. There's no verification that any of these accounts are legit. I could run around with a camera and take pictures of people even totally unknown to them, create a fake account for them, then have bots upvote them.

It's this type of behavior as why no one wants to invest here, why people leave here. Taz posted an article about a guy/gal who was making a lot of money posting pictures of socks, that was his/her accounts name. He said the guy/gal was making to much money on such low grade effort but he/she gained incredible amount of steem and it was quite an effort to bring it under control. Why shouldn't they have been allowed to do such?...as don't you think once appics gains that kind of power they are going to do the exact same thing? Right now it's a nickle, dime, dollar, five....and the very fact some reach five should be alarming. Why isn't anyone doing anything about it? I don't know, maybe they know whose pushing this behind the scene's, maybe it's someone at steemit inc they don't want to confront, maybe it's someone with to much power to go up against...it has to be something along those lines as I have yet to see anyone say it's okay for someone to come on here with such a low grade effort that will not produce onboarding of any masses rake over the rewards pool for their own self gain on track to become a dolphin within six months for such a low grade effort.

I hang out with my grand kids when I want to have fun.

There is such a 'back room'. Come join the SFR discord and you can tell us who you think is abusing Steem. Most people there are fairly small accounts. Even a dolphin may only be able to vote a few cents. Members highlight accounts they think need action and each person gets to decide if they act. I disagree with some. Those accounts who react badly may be subject to ridicule, but retaliation is up to individuals.

I am not against people earning if they can attract others to Steem. Instagram is not my thing, but it's huge. See the photographer I resteemed who has over 200k followers there. We want a slice of that. If Appics accounts are seen to be ripped off then I expect some big accounts will take action. Not much I can do. Projects like Tasteem, Steem hunt, Splinterlands etc will promote their users. Is that a problem?

I have enough junk content with paid votes to deal with. Is it wrong to downvote that? My impact is minor, but I will still do it because I think it matters. I will also keep recruiting and supporting small accounts. I could earn more voting up the big accounts, but I don't mind losing out.

Complaining about Steem is easy. Doing something about it is harder.

Have fun with the grandkids. I've not got any yet, but hope to eventually. I'll admit I can't even get my kids to use Steem. They're just not interested. Shows how much influence I have :)

There's a difference between promoting your users and taking a cut of of users rewards. All the rewards go into the soldier account....whereas that don't happen with other sites, they resteem and upvote but they don't deposit their users rewards into their own personal accounts and then give them a "cut" of it. That leaves a whole lot of incentive for voting on anything posted regardless of value, leaves a whole lot of incentive to increase those votes regardless of content as power is accumulated, leaves a whole lot of incentive to create tons of alt accounts as all those alts account rewards will go directly into the account of soldier. Like I said why would she want them to open their own accounts here?...she'd be defeating her own purpose...that's to make money off them using her site. Anyone with any brains or commonsense who did come here would be saying to themselves geez I don't need to use appics and pay them I could just post my own stuff and get the full rewards. Which is exactly the incentive someone would want to hack old dormant accounts off instagram, use mannequins, dolls to set up fake accounts. I know you all think I am full of shit but as a blogger I've seen some shit weirdo guys do with these dolls playing dress up with them....I can't be the only one to see how they could be used for an alternate purpose...why share the pie if you can have the whole thing. I am not saving everyone is fake I am just saying there's potential there for some fraud. There is no verification outside of taking someone's word for it.

What do you really care for?...what's in it for you to be so defensive in the whole debate?
