Adventures in Sketching

To recap: back in the fall, some friends saw a quick sketch I made as a demonstration for my 14 year old, who was struggling with an art assignment.

I hadn't drawn, at that point, in something like 20 years, and definitely hadn't tried to be an "artist" in something closer to 30. They promptly sent gifts

and told me to nurture my innate talents. My first attempts were not cute and I refuse to repost those embarrassing sketches. However, after sketching at least every couple of days, last night, I made a breakthrough.

Well done, you have made definitley some progress here. Next try to improve your shading technique to give the pictures some depth. ;)

Thanks for the advice!

Keep up the practice, looks great so far!
