In turn, prepare a versification of the painting "The Scream" by Edvard Munch, where it is clearly seen the replacement of the original figure that gives that characteristic to the painting by Homer Simpson, who is a fictional character protagonist of the The Simpson cartoon television series is quite well known and I found it a very fun and creative way to present this work to all of you.

If you have already seen my previous post you may notice that I quite like to show you what each protagonist drawing is about in my work, presenting definitions and some curiosities that you probably did not know, I think it's quite cool that we can go beyond just the part of the Visual art, if not also learn very interesting things from all that.

Let's start !!

Let's talk a little about this great work entitled ..

Edvard Munch's "The Scream" is one of the most famous paintings in the world, it is considered the most important work of art of the modern era, so much so it is known as the "Mona Lisa" of modern art. this history has several interesting facts that I will show you below:

The original title that Edvard gave to the work was "Der Schrei der Natur" which translates from the German "The cry of nature", is also called "The Cry", the cry.

It represents the terrible anxiety attack he once gave while walking with some friends. Painting his feelings was his therapy. The artist said that "I paint what I felt, not what I see or what I saw".

There is an explanation of the picture written by Edvard himself in his diary on January 22, 1892, which reads as follows:
"I was walking with two friends as the sunset ended, when suddenly the sky turned blood red, I paused because I felt exhausted and I leaned back from the fence. There was blood and tongues of fire on the black and blue reflection of the city. My friends kept walking while I was tempering the anxiety and there I felt the infinite cry of nature. "

It was the inspiration for the mask of the famous horror film Scream and the WhatsApp emoji that represents a surprised face.

There are 5 different versions of the painting painted by Edvard Munch. The concept remains intact, what changes are the materials. He made two in oil, two in tempera and one in lithography.

The artist attributes the success of his painting to his mental illnesses. I suffered from depression and anxiety. In his diary he wrote "My fear towards life is necessary for me, without anxiety and without disease I am a ship without a rudder. My sufferings are part of me and my art. If they are destroyed, my art is destroyed. "

Due to its fame and its value, it has been the victim of several robberies that have damaged it. The most outstanding were in the city of Oslo, Norway, one in 1904 in the National Gallery of Art and the second in 2004 in the Munch Museum.

Undoubtedly, it is one of the works of art that has given more than even 121 years of its creation.
