The Inspiration For This
This is another abstract experiment in Corel Painter 18.
I was experimenting here with using the Sargent brushes (based on the work of John Singer Sargent).
I've described before how hard it seems to be to get the chaos inherent in natural textures using digital painting.
These brushes seem to be ideal in simulating those types of textures. It is still quite hard work to get a natural look though and requires a lot of effort which is quite ironic!
I went through lots of layers both adding and deleting to get it where it looked right to me.
In the end it looks reminiscent of a stained surface to me, or also some types of natural mineral formation.
I hope you like it.
Also (as I usually say) feel free to use it in your own posts if you can find a use for it.
I liked it very much.....it looks absolutely natural!!!
Thanks:)
how did you earn $106.84 in only 52minutes. 😮😮Nice.👌👌
I will also upvote this post via %100 power.
Upvoted. It breaks $108.17.
Congratulation👏👏
Thank you. Sometimes they get more, sometimes less!
Yeah must be some kind of record! Well done!
Apt title. I was thinking it looked like a sandstorm. Awesome piece. I was reading a chapter of a story where the protagonists got caught up in a sandstorm and I can imagine this is how it would've been if that scene was illustrated.
Thanks. Yes it seems that it really says sandstorm to people! I have been in a sandstorm (thankfully I was indoors so got to see it safely from a window) and it is quite amazing how dark it can get and how the landscape vanishes. It looks like a special effect.
I really like this one - actually, it reminds me more of Tuner's work - I immediately thought of Fire at Sea - I Googled his work and found this:
It's more representational than your work, of course, but there's something similar in the tones, colours and feel.
I did click on the Sargent link and didn't really get the connection, but it may be me and my lack of technical expertise - I did take Fine Art classes at uni so that's my only defence ha ha
Thanks! Yes it is quite reminiscent. I love Turner.
It's just the type of brush I used on the software the painting itself is completely different.
Ah, I get it - strangely enough I was shopping this afternoon for watercolour brushes for a friend, and it had to be a particular type of brush - so brush strokes are important :)
Yes for sure. Sadly digital can't yet give that level of precision but it is a lot cheaper!
once you have bought the equipment, and Corel Painter which seems like spending more than a box of good quality watercolours and heaps of paper.
lol
Obviously you haven't bought artists watercolours or paper recently. Yes you can buy the crappy kids stuff but your work will look like it.
I assume you are joking!
I have the highest quality water colours, (principally Windsor and Newton Artist quality Watercolours, and Schminke and La Aquarelle by Sennelier which are great too)
And tons of Arches Aquarelle Blocks, and they weren't cheap.
Fontanelle is good stuff and is a lot less expensive, still not cheap
I do just buy all the time, if I had done the same things with cryptos I would be rich in money, instead of pigments.
But Corel Painter is 700 euros. I recently considered buying it.
(Decided on Krita instead, open source.)
And a computer to run it on is at least that much.
Obviously could easily be a lot more too.
Hell, just a good graphics tablet by itself would set anyone up as a water colourist for months or more.
I agree with you @johnjgeddes. Especially the tan part looks very similar. What a beautiful painting WOW! I am really blow away by this. When we lived in Washington DC we went to the Smithsonian National Gallery of Art a lot. Thanks so much and have a wonderful day! FOLLOWING YOU IMMEDIATELY!!!
thank you for your response, @picswart, and am following back
You are welcome, and thanks for following me back. Are you a Whale on Steemit? You have a very high reputation.
you're welcome...No, not even a dolphin lol
Thanks for your honesty. Following you. What do you write I see you are a writer?
I love Bob Ross! I used to watch him on cable TV when I was a kid. Such a lovely guy with such a gentle style. I think he is on Netflix now too. Must take a look when I have time.
Me and my brother watched him paint and finish his art within an hour on TV with commercials included I think from the late 90's when few of his shows reached our country.
Sadly I think died pretty young (by modern standards).
Yes, some type of cancer at the age of 52 learned. He could have livestreamed on YouTube if he lived some more years,
But his works are now immortalized in the Internet. It's the magic what technology can do.
Yes it is sad but he has a kind of immortality now.
Looks good, feels like an sandstorm coming right at you and is almost near you!
Yes seems to be a common impression!
Awesome!!! another good one from you, keep it up. Upped.
I like the mixture of colors, you are very talented indeed.
I referenced you on my latest post: Steemit: Poor People killer Or A Strategic Solution For All ?
feel free to check it out. More success to you, and keep steeming.
I agree, have a wonderful day!
welcome
Hey can I ask you a personal favour?
depends
Who do you know right now that is a Whale on Steemit?
The owners of steemit
Thanks¡
welcome, always
It does have this chaotic feel to it! Almost looks like a huge sandstorm :D
Yes I can see it! Thank you!
i agree to that, it looks like a huge sandstorm in a hot day!
I agree!!!
It is said that “Chaos is Order Reorganizing!”. Your painting fits perfectly into this.
Thank you:)
Another great Painter Artwork - youre really good with this software and creating stunnig Pics looks like real paintings - cool man :-)
Thank you!
As I look at this artwork I see a trench where the men may sit in while preparing for battle. The clouds of mortar shells hitting the earth scattering the dirt and mud. It's only a matter of time before the men climb out and begin moving forward in hopes of conquering a few inches of land at a time.
Please continue your artwork this is far better than the first two pieces,
Wylink
Interesting thoughts. Thank you - I hope to keep improving it but it takes time to get the hang of using a tablet versus a paint brush:)
wow, very nice. I really like the colors. It reminds me of a forest fire at sunset, beautiful chaos. Do you do any IRL painting?
Thanks. I used to.
Very cool effect
Thank you!
great post, thanks for sharing
You're welcome!
:)
Love the post - Great content - Great Painting and the perfect outlook !
waiting for your next post ...
Thank you.
40 min and 193votes Woooow :-)
I just wish more people would view it. My written posts tend to get a lot more views.
I wish I just would have the half of your viewers and voters. 😄😄😄
But it's ok I am working on it. I also wanted to ask you if, it is ok for you, when I contact you via the chat? I would have one or two questions. Thanks, Martin
Sure feel free. I think it will take time to get your viewers up - took me months and there were a lot less people posting when I started over a year ago. To be honest my "art" (if you can call it that lol) only gets a fraction of the views that my other stuff gets so I am still working on that.
That's mystical.
*Quickly downloads and sets it as wallpaper. *
Thanks:)
love it! very mellow for me actually
Thank you:)
Nice painting my friend , reminds me of a martian storm , great post
Cool idea - thanks! Could be Mars.
excellent work
I love abstracts :)
this is so so good
and "Minimalist Too" :D
Thank you!
Nice, impressive.
Thanks.
"quite hard work to get a natural look-"
Yep, that's digital for ya. Sometimes I have to play around with the brushes and change them a bit so they look real. I also add multiple layers and sometimes it's for the smallest of sections. This is probably the reason I stick with pencils. Have you considered painting with traditional media?
Yes I don't have space for it right now - need somewhere that is safe from my cats.
Strange but interesting :)
Thank you:)
you are welcome :)
Abstract images you create very nice Sir @thecryptofiend, I was amazed because you say that this abstract picture created using Corel Painter. What's more if you see this image with full screen, then its beauty will be more visible.
Thank you:)
Excellent work dear friend @thecryptofiend congratulations, I like this work technique, I just have a little time I want to experience about it, thank you very much for this inspiration.
To see this work immediately brought to my body extracts from my land Argentina Jujuy province where the color of its land is very particular.
Have a nice week
Wow that is amazing!
This looks really good @thecryptofiend
I feel like I'm in this war type scenario. WW2 infact. In the muddy, murky trenches as sunlight abandons us as we turn back to our dying and start to find off the insurgents who pose threats to our liberties and freedoms.
king honour human dignity drop like luxuries as we realise what war really is, incessant futile war.
Superb piece of artwork @thecryptofiend I love all the textures and the dreary, chaotic atmosphere it creates.
Absolutely beautiful! :)
Thanks mate!
Wow wow I love this , I am not sure why but the colors remind me of sand , like when I was in Dubai and sand everywhere . The colors mixed in very well as always , great work as you know :D @thecryptofiend
Thanks!
You're welcome , keep inspiring :D Steem on
Really interesting. Like a landscape coming into view as the smoke clears. I guess due to the vertical lightening of colour.
On the larger version there are some great textures there! Varnished or lacquered wood maybe.
Thanks - I was really trying to go for an organic look - so wood would fit in with that. It is strange that it takes a lot of work to get it looking natural though.
This makes me think of the dessert :)
Cool:)
It kind of reminds me of a desert storm as well! Either way, really cool!
Yes someone else said that too.
lol, they submitted it right before I was finished typing my post!
:)
This image is perfect sir, Actually looking like a sand cloud. Thank you sir, I would use it in my next post if it's allowed by you. I have already thought of a perfect use of it.
Excellent let me know when you use it:) . Send it in the chat.
Thank you sir.
Great artwork! Love the colours.
Thank you!
Sargent was quite a genius painter. Lov him very much. Nice painting!
I agree. Thank you:)
Nice one!
Thank you:)
There's something about it! Thank you!
Thanks!
Indeed it looks stained but it also looks like a wildfire from what I can imagine.
I stared at your photograph for a good amount of time, and I felt like I was in a desert facing the most menacing looking sandstorm. Definitely evoked feelings from me. Great work @thecryptofiend! Upvoted and Following.
THank you:)
You're most welcome @thecryptofiend, good work.
:)
Beautiful work of art.
Corel draw painter..👍👍
Thank you.
fuckin god, In the end it looks reminiscent of a stained surface to me, or also some types of natural mineral formation.
Yes in fact that was what I was initially thinking of like a worn surface that has been stained through years of use!
It reminds me the art style we studied on the fifth grade in art academy:) I don't know how to translate it's name to english correctly, but the general idea is that it's non-figure painting there were, only emotions and expression. Love it:)
Thanks - spot on. I haven't studied art history but when I look at these textures I find they do engender an emotional expression in a purity that more representative works do not. I think it is something to do with the inherent chaotic quality that reminds us of nature on a deep level.
Looks fantastic. I would love to use something like this as a background on my website for instance. Thanks so much and have a wonderful day!
Please do use it if you can. Let me know and send me a link if you do!
beautiful
Thank you:)
