Sasquatch. They say he’s a master of disguise.
...there was some Sasquatch art that I was going to use for this post, but I can’t find it.
No Post Today
So something or other about the Sasquatch, that legendary Canadian ape which many say doesn’t even exist, would have made a decent post today. That was what I thought.
Tribute Post Ruined
Lately I’ve been doing posts to honor some of my friends here at Steemit, various little bits of art and some kind of... something.
That’s the problem. The art for this one has vanished, and just like Sasquatch, there's no photo, and now nobody will even believe that I drew anything at all.
An Insane Challenge
It was a lofty goal, the particular tribute post that I was creating the Sasquatch drawing for. I’ve never even been to Canada, and drawing Sasquatch for the post was intensely challenging.
Here’s the thing: I was trying my hand at creating some digital art as part of a tribute post, but had limited myself to using only real colored paper, colored pencils, and a couple of paint pens and markers. Then I was going to take a picture of the drawing with a real digital camera, which technically makes it digital art, I think.
It Was Going to be Epic, But Now...
I was trying for a sort of Dali Gone Ape thing, a mind-bending eye-gasmic sensation with a simian theme-- the tribute called for such-- and I guess I got lucky and drew the big ape, because no sooner had I gone to fetch my Canadian dictionary to look up ’Sasquatch’ for my tribute article, the sneaky hair man took off-- presumably headed back to the Northern wilderness, called back to the Land o Lakes by some ice hole, and like an ice hole, has left me sitting cold, because now there’s no art left to use.
That Sasquatch really is good at hiding. Maybe I’ll find him here in the studio eventually, but without that colossal Canuck, that tribute post is kapoot. (a Canadian word meaning ‘fucked’) I’ll keep searching, like everyone else I guess, searching for the elusive Sasquatch. I was hoping to skip that part, it feels so common these days. This post was going to be different.
Meanwhile, I’d like to apologize that there’s no post today, the Sasquatch got away, and with no art to write about, I can only hope that the artist Himself will understand how his tribute post was ruined by that big stinking ape.
if this post had included any art, it would have been drawn by me, 'Venus de Icehole' in colored pencil and paint, 2018- for posts with art, stories and variety, click below these birds:
Ever get that feeling like people are talking about you?
I know it's a mess- but yes it was going to be a nice tribute post. Be on the lookout for that ape, he might be headed your way.
It was a damn fine tribute. I thank you for this.
With a Canadian ruler, the actual size of the image is a boat 175 cm across, 150 cm tall, in case you want to make prints or copies. It is drawn for you.
Those two hidden in plain sight like that make it much larger than any Canadian ruler can measure. That is a genius piece of work right there. I'm struggling to find words today though. One of those days.
I misread the metric thingy, should say 17.5 cm I think. Those were plenty of words there!
Yes, baby, tell us about your feeling, @nonameslefttouse
It tickles.
You emulated his style so well! Well... the writing style anyway. The art... well that needs a few more hidden demon faces. You're not going to give anyone trippy nightmares with that. It is quite a nice piece though!
I kept waiting for those hidden faces to pop out too! That negative Venus isn't scary enough to qualify, even in the shadows.
I really enjoyed the art you weren't able to share today, as well as the post you couldn't write. Someday we'll find that Sasquatch. I'm sure the Writer/Artist Himself will understand.
It really was going to be something. Posting about it was the best I could manage with that slippery Sasquatch running off and hiding like that.
Resteeming these are a two for one! ;)
But, there was no post to resteem! xoxo
Awww, haha, I can't tell you how much it just made my day that you x and o'd me! Just over three months and you'll be subjected to the real thing ;)
Oh, and if you want a good laugh, go see @sandrina.life 's latest, hee hee, that chic cracks me the hell up.
Lol..
This is real fun to read
Thanks for looking, and I appreciate the vote, even though there was no post today!
Lol..
That's a great comment 😁
I really like it. Everyone knows that the legendary Sasquatch is real.
If it wasn't then how could they have made the movie Harry and the Hendersons?
Plus, everyone knows that they can vanish in the blink of an eye, and that there's never a clear photo- if Sas wasn't real, how would we know such things about it? The Sasquatch has secretive traits, everyone knows.
your no post also radiates your creativity sir..by the way i am looking forward to see the missing one :)
If that sneaky Sasquatch shows up I will make an actual post about it! :)
Exactly like that! ;)
Wow, a very beautiful piece of art @therealpaul, you do have a great artistic soul. Every time I see your post about art, it all looks very beautiful. Thank you and hopefully you will be more successful to work.
Thanks @mukhlis69, I'm glad that you enjoy my work here, and I always appreciate your support.
Thanks again @therealpaul, I am also glad to see your beautiful masterpiece. Because I can not do it all. Therefore, I really appreciate your work.
I can't believe I'm saying this, but this has almost matched your Jed Man post! Man, this was such a complete package of a post, if I've ever seen one. I see what you did with the Sasquatch (or, wait, maybe I didn't!) and your rendition to make up for the lost art was just so gorgeous. Ugh! Dare I say, I love it! It's a piece worthy of a place in an exhibit. One day, it might even be worthy enough to stand next to the Jed Man art. One day... but, for now, let's continue to search for that elusive beast.
I had missed this comment, just now saw it, 3 days later! It's a whole different style from the Jed Man drawing, since I had no photo to go by with this, it has lots of artistic license. With Jed Man I was trying for a particular style, but here I had no idea what I was doing. I'd seen Dali messing with the Venus de Milo in one of his psychedelic works, ('The Toreador'?) so that was the start for this one: draw Venus, then see what happens.
what a creativity!!!! lol
this art proves that you have deep creativity in art
Ahh doncha hate it when that happens. Your digital art plan seemed pretty sound too, not sure what could have gone wrong there.
a interesting sort of tribute
It's okay,
thanks for funny photo :)
You are doing well, Let's take holiday
Cheers!
LOL! no, but good try.
You have to make a picture entirely using a PC, not paper ( SPARE THE TREES!!!!) and that is what makes digital art.
Love the art & Post!
In Florida it is referred to as the skunk ape and Sasquatch as well. Very entertaining Post!
Steem on :)
I just about used the term 'skunk ape', and here in Arkansas most would know the meaning of that!
