RE: But What Could Be as Real as Love?

in #art7 years ago

Watercolor is a pretty good medium for me; there's a lot of time waiting for the paper to dry so that more coats can be added, so I can wander off and do other things while it dries.

It's so easy for our egos to send us falling into the past, or making up frightful futures, staying real is a full time job, but I'm getting better at it all the time. ;)

I'm taking oil painting class at the moment and I want to experiment other techniques.
It's hard to be by myself, but I am finally enjoying and accepting it. I can make it and I can live it large.
We can talk about our egos for hour.
Ego is a fucked up thing.

Oil painting class sounds fun, the medium is addicting. My low-budget oil painting classes were when I lived near a library, I would check out these art books heavy with color prints of the old masters. I studied those old paintings trying to learn the secrets, while also reading the descriptions of the techniques used, and finally trying to mimic the styles that caught my eye with my own paints. But hey you don't have to be by yourself, you have Steemians like me, who almost miss your comment but finally reply the following day!

The ego can be sorted out quickly; it's just the part of our mind that can't exist now, but instead tries to dwell in the past, and fabricate a fearful future. Be here now, and no ego can exist.

Oil painting is fun, but my teacher is making me copy other paintings instead of look at the reality, so I am not 100% about the colors and the results. However, I am doing it as practice, so as much as I do, I'm glad. I am just a beginner!
I don't know about your, but my ego can't really be sorted out quickly. I need to keep it under control, otherwise it is too loud.
