My metalwork

in #art7 years ago

So this is my first official post and a bit of a continuation of my introduction sort of ;). In my profile I list artist first so I thought I would start off with some of my simple metal sculptures. I love to walk the local scrap yards and find shapes and textures to arrange into esthetic combinations. I simply lay out a design and using an oxyacetylene torch and the smallest welding tip possible to braise the back side.

So here we have some small stamped out steel pieces which are the scraped remains of some manufacturing process braised together with a couple of copper washers and attached to a makeshift stand.

This is another simple combination of mostly the same stamped pieces.

Again same pieces different arrangement

Last one for now, same pieces different combo

This last pic I include to show these simple sculpture's relative size, note the coins upper left
