I've been fortunate enough to have had a couple of commissions myself for my pencil portraits. Clearly not as many as yourself if this is piece number 3395, but even if I had only sold one it would still give me great satisfaction to know that my work was gracing the home of someone who appreciates it, so you must be a very happy man to know that this is the case for so many of your works. :)
It must be a nightmare keeping track of all of your work when it is so spread out around the world! :) I'm sure your numbering system helps a great deal. If I ever enjoy such success I shall have to keep it in mind! :)
Hope you are also having a 'superlatively stunning day!' :)
@tonyr Yes indeed, I have many paintings in collections and that's very gratifying. I only have one gallery representing my work so it's not so bad now. I did have to rotate unsold work from one gallery to another for many years, and if unsold, had to bring them home. THAT was a nightmare! LOL I mostly sell my own work now, thankfully.
It is much easier these days to represent and sell your own work....without the need for going door to door. :)
I've only just rediscovered my enjoyment of drawing which is something I really loved doing when I was younger and am hoping that given time it might allow me the same freedom and control over my own life that you seem to have managed to achieve.
I'm hoping to try painting soon but that doesn't come as easily to me as the drawing seems to. :(
Selling my own work is far, far better than dealing with art galleries on a consignment basis. I have a billion nightmare stories I could tell about gallery owners and so does every other professional I know, although they continue to put up with it. I only have one such gallery and it's owned by my cousin, so we have no issues whatever, and she's the only one to whom I will EVER consign my work from now on.
At any rate, keep going @tonyr
