To form a thought , or how a thought creates form...
(formar um pensamento, ou como um pensamento cria a forma...)
Today i finished the drawing of a folded sheet of A4 draft paper that i had laying around my desk !
The sheet was folded in to 4 parts and as i looked at it the thought emerged of sketching something on it, so i began randomly sketching the first piece off the empty folded sheet, the beginning was a bit tumultuous and i put it aside for a while, as the sheet was folded it laid with the folded part down holding the sketch in an almost vertical position, so i could still glimpse at it, that made possible the thought for taking the folded piece off paper and making it into a four part sketch, so after some time i finished the first part.
FORM 1
So this one was a bit messy, it started whit some random lines and the geometric element was thrown in there just as randomly as all the rest , wen it was done and i put it aside again in the standing position, another glimpse and another thought on wow to proceed, the geometric element is going to grow it will take over the organic masses, this will be gradual and it must be in a way also organic, so next i grabbed the folded sheet and began sketching the other piece off the folded ketch sheet, this one as the first was started by the frame line and next i added the random geometric forms,
and then all the rest.
FORM 2
Again the folded sheet was thrown to the side, with one half done, i cold now change it's position and the picture standing would also change, the composition was evaluated for a wile an then abandoned, as i left to attend other duties of daily live.
Another day came and i returned to my work, again this sheet off folded sketch paper was there, whit one side blank an the other whit some sketch forms, after some time working i looked to the side and it seemed time for another one, i grabbed the piece of paper folded it in a way i would not be sketching on top of the already made, and started by adding the frame line and the form in the fore ground, i wanted to proceed in the way i had thought, that the geometric parts would be taking over the organics, so whit this geometry in the foreground i was not there yet, another trow to the side, a few glimpses and a few turns to evaluate the other parts, another thought and another form appeared from the side attached to other parts , the organics are now squeezed but still they flow.

It was strange to look at this last sketch for wen i did the frame somehow intentionally i did this odd turn in one corner and next to it a long box was created, the work must continue and this folded sheet of draft paper is put to rest, to glimpse occasionally as the time passes, i know what i have to do in the last part of the folded sheet that is waiting, just a little longer i must finish the work first, ... now i must do it now the thought comes, i grab the sheet again and fold it carefully and without planing i start tracing the frame, as i finished the frame a moment off uncertainty arises, the frame is to irregular, i think it's ruined, but i don't care i must proceed and finish it, so now the geometric part must close as it is this form that takes over the organic, yes that was the thought in the beginning, so it will be this way, not much more to do, the frame serves as a starting point and it will be also a way out , all i need is some outer element that completed the idea of it being a larger solid geometric element, and the geometric forms have taken over...

And so this is the final result off a simple thought to have a sketch done in a folded sheet of draft paper that i had laying around my work desk, the thought expanded to create more, to create 4 sketches in one folded sheet of paper.
I find it interesting the way it all happened, and the final result is able to be presented as some kind off a short 2 page "comics story" that tells the story off a growing mass off geometric form that takes over all the organic, this can be interpreted as the growing of a human settlement, starting whit a small place surrounded by nature and then gradually growing until it takes over all off the surroundings...
