Art is beauty exposed. Nothing can be experienced if it is not shared, so a piece of beauty cannot be art unless it has been shared.

What about art that is disturbing?
Nobody has led the same life or has had the same experiences, but we are human and our experience can always be understood (to a certain point) by someone. So even if it might disturb some people, the question still has to be, "Where is the artist coming from?" We cannot claim that we know what true beauty is because (sorry for the cliche but it is true) beauty is in the eye of the beholder. So what you or I might call disturbing, someone else would call beautiful.
Great point:)
Thank you!
