This is really, really beautiful! It reminds me of the Robert Frost poem of the same name. I like how layered it is with color - so many different shades give it depth.
"Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I’ve tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice."

man destroying nature(fire) glacier melting (ice), mankind destroying himself
Love the fact that these two elements thrown in together collide to create something new. A new material, therefore the black in the middle.
