The word "Buzludja" in Bulgaria is often referred to as the House-monument of the BCP, or otherwise "Pametnik on Buzludja". The OPF is the Bulgarian Communist Party. Despite the fact that this structure absolutely everyone seems like a flying saucer, in fact it depicts a crown in honor of the Communist Party, and a stella with a star is an unfurled flag.
The name "Buzludja" went from the name of the summit on which this architectural masterpiece was erected. This mountain, which until 1891 was named Hadji Dimitra, is only 12 km from Shipka Pass - the place where the most decisive battle for the liberation of Bulgaria from the Turkish yoke took place.
"House-pametnik on the OPF on Buzludja" began to build in 1974 and solemnly opened in August 1981. It is known that approximately 7,274,871 euros have been spent on the construction site in terms of those levs for the current euro. Now this figure does not give us anything except for the figure about the figure)
Of course, this monument was built by volunteers and the construction battalion, and the commander of the Starozagorsky construction division (the general) directed all this.
The monument on Buzludja consists of a dome hall and a 70-meter double pylon with two stars. The diameter of the hall is 42 meters and the height is 14 and a half, the total area of the mosaic is 550 square meters, and in the corridors surrounding the hall, 14 more compositions reflecting peaceful work.
Ask where did they spend such a cloud of money if they did not pay the builders? And materials ?! Buzludzhi's construction uses a huge amount of granite, marble, rubies, bronze and gold. Three ladders were decorated with crystal! Almost all the panels, ranging in size from 8 meters to 42, were works of art made by famous masters of that period. The horror is that everything is looted by the vandals.
Why is this dish "landed" right here? Why go so far away from Sofia, for the purpose of holding another grand meeting or rewarding?
It turns out that the peak of "Haji Dimitar" is the geometric center of the country. In the stars on the pylon it was planned to mount lamps with a capacity of 150 KW and, according to the idea of the builders, this projector should have illuminated the Romanian coast of the Danube, as well as the Aegean coast in Greece. I consider this plan to be the pinnacle of propaganda thought.
Now Buzludja is completely killed and is expected to fall to the ground soon. After 2011 the complex was donated to the Bulgarian Socialist Party, but this did not change anything and the destruction continues. Visiting it is prohibited, because it is life-threatening. Nevertheless, people continue to go there for the sake of photographs. Back in 2013, the "plate" fell into the list of "The most beautiful abandoned places in the world" on the 25th place.
