Original Art Photography Series by @velimir #164 'Turned Off'

in #art7 years ago

The name of this art photograph is: 'Turned Off'

Clever people say that every cloud has a golden rim. Meaning, there are favourable times coming after each bad stretch in one's life. In this very case, every turned-off lamp has the sun behind it. The meaning is almost the same, except I added a bit more on to it. One should never lose hope, and especially not when it's the only thing giving us the strength to endure and push forward. Somewhere out there is always that radiant energy, with enough power to shine through, and shows our warm colours regardless of the circumstances.

The huge dark shape in the right side of the frame anchors the composition and defines it as heavy. I deliberately positioned the camera angle so that the sun would only insignificantly peek behind the light. This gives a charming touch and adds a value of the caught moment. The sun brings new hope in otherwise dark and quite scary looking, silhouetted surrounding appropriately complemented with the oval, just as dark, shape of the light stand.

The colour match between the dominant lemon yellow of the lamp's glass and the very light pink in the sky work in unison to fight the darkness and provide a way out from the gloom. And this is exactly what their intended purpose it. Everyone is a beacon of shining light, even when temporarily turned off. :)

If you look long enough at this photograph, you might remember its message in the time of need.

Enjoy!

Excellent photo ... I was recently in the city of Brest, there is a tradition where such lamps are lit by a special person every day ... This is happening on a special street, a very old street that strikes its pre-archite architecture .. Everyone sees in this photo something its own, but I described what I remembered right now and I am very happy with this memories and the fact that you gave me to enjoy them and your photo :)
Thank you, as always

who of you two copied other's comment?

@velimir perhaps there was a misunderstanding, you know that I always write good and sincere comments and never copy

Hehehe I know buddy, just wanted to see what the other guy has to say before I flag him

really this message has animated me the night, I appreciate what you wrote, you do'nt know how your words have encouraged me to continue! very good photo and the message has reached my heart, thank you!

My pleasure, you are very welcome!

Liked how u said, "Everyone is a beacon of shining light, even when temporarily turned off".

POETIC. Cool. I've looked at some of your other #PHOTOGRAPHY, & thought your Focus on light is noteworthy. I'm not a photographer, but I am into #Art .
So .. in your other POST, called "Seven" -- you spoke of "The shadow and light direction is important" ... and then I Found your Comment insightful -- that is, when u said:

"Lines go from the bottom left corner toward the top right adding an Uplifting feeling of positive progress. Unless one needs to convey some negative or blocking thought, this is quite an appropriate way to compose." ==> ☻☻ I hadn't considered (was unaware) that LINES traveling from the Bottom left to the Top right, could have this effect !

REALLY COOL EXPLANATION on your part - Thanx 4 the 2 Neat blog posts !!

Needless to say, am sharing this (a Resteem) - JAN A.

This is great art and photography @velimir, If only there was a crow in the lantern .. hmmmm.

But for this photo I really like it 😊😊😊😊

One should never lose hope, and especially not when it's the only thing giving us the strength to endure and push forward.

Sometimes when the door of happiness closes, another opens but often time we tend to look back on the closed door but we don't see the door that has being opened for us.It is true that we don't really know the value of what we got until we losses it but the thing is that we don't know what we've been missing until it arrived, try not to say goodbye if you still want to give it a try and never give up when you still think that you got the potential on moving forward. So the major key here is HOPE because love comes to those who still hope despite their previous experience.

Thanks to @velimir and less i forget, the face of the lamp looks like a human's face and i almost got scared at first sight LOL but the image of the lamp is really nice and beautiful, nice write up also @velimir.

Yes, I noticed the two eyes myself. Thought it was so subjective that no one else would notice. Thank you! :)

You are welcome @velimir 😊😊😊😊

There are alot of these gloomy, melancholic scenarios, I like to call them Gothic. Especially in the dusk of day, even in the warmer seasons, they exist. And they are very hard to capture in photo. We see them diferent with our eyes, because we feel them, the camera doesn't. Not only did you managed to capture a "Goth" moment making for an amazing photo, but the insight you give,on how to do it, makes me think you could do over and over. lol. Hat's off to you sir.

Oh man, the goth moment. I love the idea. So true. How comes I missed that....? :D Thank you!

Excellent shot again and great educational description while sharing valuable piece of wisdom most could learn from. Thanks a lot for it all!

What can you advice if i use a smartphone to shoot? Your help is highly appreciated.

In my country, people say: "war is not fought with shiny weapons, but with the hero's hearth" It seriously doesn't matter. Have fun and enjoy creating with anything you have at your disposal. The rest will come.

Nostalgic @velimir. Reminds me of a recurring dream I used to have as a child. May I ask where it was taken?

It was taken in Zagreb, close to where I live. What was the dream about if you care to share?

Fantastic. I have been through Zagreb in my travels but was not able to stay, unfortunately.

And yes, the dream was of a place called Woodbridge in Southern California, where I grew up. There was this long green belt with a forest on either side and a gully down the center with a small stream running through it. This place showed up repeatedly throughout my youth and though it wasn't real it had all of the most familiar elements of my memory, kind of condensed into this small environment. I was never in my body in this place but watched myself from the other side of the gully. There was a very large, dark tunnel at the end of the gully that water ran into. I would often see strange, Victorian lampposts lining the walk way and there was always a sense of both deep familiarity and the unknown.

wow nice capture and nice wordings..very inspirational..when there is no light in our lives when we are in the dark we ought to give up our battle soon..we get frustrated and find ourselves not worth enough to endure..but we have to cling onto the little hope that is left with us and keep moving forward until we find our light.. :)

One of nicest clicks I have seen so far.As you have explained the light of the two sources blend so nicely to create a different color to the image.Great one
-cheers-

Thanks for explaining your photos. Sometimes, I have art photographs to post but have no idea what works and why they entertain me. You gave us valuable insights in photography. This one's great. Thanks @velimir!

Welcome! :)

Have a great weekend sir!

Nice inspirational post! We can always find light, but sometimes we need a little catalyst. I was playing with a similar concept the other day the City of Reno's "Space Whale".

Nice picture, it captures the message you intended to pass across to us. We need to be strong at every moment no matter what we are passing through, there will be light at the end of the tunnel. Good job.

grandiosa fotografia, siempre nos sorprende

I needed this inspiration of hope today. Thanks for posting! I love meeting more artists 🌺

  • Nice this is too dope for the one time!

Yet again another artistic and sensitive piece of art. I love the tree skeletons in the background and how the photo almost appears to be in black and white except for the dramatic amber illuminating from the lamp which seems to invite the viewer to some kind of mystic place. I visualize some sort of tavern along the way of a epic quest. I love your work..it really makes me think.

Thats Looks verry great and wonderful

Like it,,, 😁😁😁😁😁

OMG, this is a true definition of nature speaking through photography... Your work is amazing.

Thank you, as always

who of you two copied other's comment?

I apologize, I saw this comment from the Franklin and saw that there about the city of Brest in which I used to live. Since I do not speak English perfectly, I copied it myself to an interpreter-to read it. And in the second tab wrote a comment. I accidentally copied not my comments from an interpreter.
It's my fault, I was not careful. I have no purpose to steal other people's commentaries, I always write my own. excuse me

ok, please take care next time.

Wow amazing photo
