One fascinating thing about nature are the tallest trees in the world, its unbelievable height. So unbelievable that there are some that are extraordinary tall beyond human imagination.
If you are not a fan of nature beauty, a tourist or a constant traveler, whenever asked which tree is the tallest you wouldn’t hesitate saying it is the very popular paradox, Iroko tree. Really? Let me shock you a bit, do you know that Iroko tree is not even among the top 30 tallest trees in the world? Yea, Iroko trees aren’t even close to the tallest trees in the world when doing height comparison.
Imagine, a normal Iroko tree has a height ranging from 30m – 60m while some other tallest trees in the world has over 100m+ of height. You see? you will be very much amazed going through this list of top tallest trees in the world.

Atlas

Height: 91.20 m
Location: San Francisco, California, United States
Density: 6.81 m

Starting up our list of top tallest tree is Atlas, currently the 9th largest single-stem coast redwood and the 2nd largest tree in Atlas Grove.
Amazingly, Atlas is also the 3rd fastest gwoing redwood yet to be measured with approximately 1.18m growth every year.
Humboldt State University forestry professor Stephen C. Sillett named the tree after the Greek Titan Atlas, god of astronomy and navigation.
The main trunk of Atlas splits into three enormous branches 190 ft (58 m) above ground, and the crotch in-between supports a soil mat over 3 ft (1 m) thick.

Iluvatar

Height: 91.50m
Location: San Franscisco, California, United States
Density: 6.67m
Iluvatar is also known as Cal-Barrel Giant, is currently the tallest tre in Atlas Grove,and 2nd largest single-stem coast redwood.
This gigantic tree was named after J. R. R. Tolkien’s Ero Ilúvatar, the supreme diety of Arda by Humboldt State University forestry professor Stephen C. Sillett.
Iluvatar has over 1 billion leaves in it and its crown contains over 209 reiterated trunks.

Zeus Redwood

Height: 101.87m
Location: Orick, California, United States.
Density: 6.75m

Zeus is currently the 3rd largest tree in Atlas Grove, The name Zeus was given to it by Humboldt University forestry professor Stephen C. Sillet after the Greek Olympian Zeus, god of the sky.
This gigantic tree, Zeus, has world’s deepest measured crown of over 91m and it is currently the 5th fastest growing redwood yet to be measured which grows about 1.15m each year.

Hill-Davis

Height: 105.03m
Location: Orick, United States
Density: 4.79m

Next on our list of top tallest tree in the world is Hill-Davis, named after the Hill-Davis Company, a subsidiary of Weyerhaeuser and parent of Arcata Redwood Company (ARCo), which owned Tall Trees Grove, also known as the ARCo Grove of the Giants.

Melkor

Height: 106.25m
Location: Orick, California, United States.
Density: 6.83m

Next on our list is Melkor, popularly known as Fusion Giant is the second largest known multi-stem redwood.
The name Melkor was given to it by Humboldt State University forestry professor Stephen C. Sillett after J. R. R. Tolkien’s Melkor, the first Dark Lord of Eä., before it was named Tree Fussion by naturalists Chris K. Atkins and Michael W. Taylor.
