The way I see people
I've tried to express my specific way of understanding and interpreting people and everything that surrounds us through highlighted objects and shapes wich awakens a particularly strong interest .
The frequent walks through Bucharest brought me back and helped me to find my subjects so I can be able to conceive things and the people that surround us in unreal things and shapes. I paint what I see, I'm driven by the imagination that keeps me playing permanently and I transpose on the canvas what I see in people and objects. Starting from simple forms such as maps and patterns inspired by nature I manage to play simple images of complex activities.
The present paintings are a serie inspired from Bucharest, my home town, wich I also consider to be the richest city in terms of visuals.
Back in 1999 when I was 9 years old, it was the year that change my way of perceiveving things in a diffrent way, it was the first time I visited a saline so this woke up in me a huge interest of how this salt mouintain in Slanic, Prahova formed and the hstory of it.
The beginnings of the history of the salt mine date back to the year 1685, when Mihails Cantacuzino realized that in the Slanica Prahova region there is a salt mine and so, whishing to open a mine, bought Slanic estate. Starting with 1943 Mina Unirea opened with 15 rooms, all with trapezoidal profile. Exploitation took place until 1972, ever since then it have been dedicated for touring and medical treatment under supervision. So this was the begining of my reaserch from a very small age. After that I started to read alot about cryptocristalline( agate ) so this way I got closer to see and understand how they cause a corresponding variation in succesive layers, and this made me start to see things, people, objects and everything surrounding us in " layers "
In 2012 I started to draw more and more on this subject until 2005 when I moved to Spain and I was fascinated about the sea so I left this project but with tons of sketches because I wanted to do it in Bucharest where all started.
Hope you'll enjoy this one! I have another 2 projects based on this subject, in wich you will see the evolution of shape.
